According to Vanity Fair, 'Dancing With the Stars' veteran and star of the 'Rock of Ages' movie Julianne Hough would like to star as 'Elphaba' in a film version of WICKED. Hough told Vanity Fair: 'I want to be Elphaba. I mean, in my mind I'm like, I don't want to do any musicals for a while, since they're like the only movies I've done, so I'm like, Let's just wait five years and they'll have to come out and make that and I will definitely do that!'
ROCK OF AGES will open in theaters on June 15, 2012. The film stars Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, along with Diego Boneta as 'Drew,' Julianne Hough as 'Sherrie,' Russell Brand as 'Lonny,' Alec Baldwin as 'Dennis,' Mary J. Emily Padgett, who has performed the role since November 2011, will play her final performance on Tuesday, May 1. During the interim week, the role will be covered alternately by Katie Webber and Tessa Alves.
