Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theater company, has announced that its acclaimed production of Queen of the Mist, words and music by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa, directed by four-time Drama Desk Award nominee Jack Cummings III, will be taped for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Theatre on Film and Tape Archive on December 1.

SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED's Final Performance Will Be 11/28

Following nineteen sold out shows, SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, the acclaimed and award-winning cabaret series, will conclude with a twentieth and final installment on Monday, November 28 at 7pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Sondheim Unplugged is currently celebrating the second year of it's smash run, having begun this journey of celebrating Sondheim in July of 2010.

Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced that the world premiere of Queen of the Mist, words and music by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa, directed by four-time Drama Desk Award nominee Jack Cummings III, will play a two-week extension through Sunday, December 4 at The Gym at Judson Memorial Church, 243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South. The musical was originally scheduled to close Sunday, November 20.

Based on an astounding, outrageous, and haunting true story, two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa (Guys and Dolls, Xanadu, 42nd Street) stars as Anna Edson Taylor, who, in 1901, set out to be the first woman to shoot Niagara Falls, in a barrel of her own design. Following eighteen sold out shows, the hit cabaret series, SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, will continue for an nineteenth installment, Sunday, October 30 at 7pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Sondheim Unplugged is currently celebrating the second year of it's smash run, having begun this journey of celebrating Sondheim in July of 2010. Andrew Lippa to Host NAMT Songwriters Showcase, 10/28 at New World Stages

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today that NAMT alum and Broadway composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa will host a Songwriters Showcase as part of the 23rd Annual Festival of New Musicals on Friday, October 28 from 1:30-2:30pm at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).
