The Imagen Foundation has announced the nominees for the 29th Annual Imagen (Spanish for “image”) Awards, honoring portrayals of Latinos and Latino cultures in television and film. The awards will be presented at a gala black-tie dinner on Friday evening, August 1st, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel International Ballroom.

In addition to a series best with Total Viewers (a +50% jump versus the program's June 23rd premiere), the drama reached series highs across all of the key demographics, including 1.4 million Adults 18-49 viewers (+69%), 1.3 million Adults 25-54 viewers (+50%), 1.2 million Women 18-49 viewers (+90%) and 1.0 million Women 25-54 viewers (+51%), according to Nielsen Research.

The network has renewed for a second season its hit drama Devious Maids (#DeviousMaids), starring Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes, with a 13 episode order, it was announced today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime. Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios.

Lifetime will premiere its highly-anticipated new drama DEVIOUS MAIDS, executive produced by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), tonight, June 23, at 10PM ET/PT.

TVGuide.com reports that Lifetime's upcoming drama series DEVIOUS MAIDS is already facing harsh criticism for what many believe to be a promotion of Latina stereotypes.

To support the June 23 premiere of its new drama Devious Maids, executive produced by Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, Lifetime(R) will make the pilot of the eagerly-anticipated series available in English and Spanish across multiple platforms

ABC Studios had another banner development year with nine new shows ordered to series. New dramas "Betrayal," "Killer Women," "Lucky 7," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Resurrection," along with new comedies "Trophy Wife" and "Mixology," were picked up at ABC. New drama "Intelligence" was ordered at CBS. ABC Studios had the most drama orders of any studio.
