Jess Goldstein, Douglas W. Schmidt & More to Receive 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards

Tony Award-winning costume designer, JESS GOLDSTEIN (currently represented on Broadway with Jersey Boys and On the Town), and scenic designer DOUGLAS W. SCHMIDT are among the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 1, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Goldstein was selected to receive the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Schmidt will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

BWW Preview: WOMEN PLAYING HAMLET Opens at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City

A world premiere comedy with an all-woman cast, Women Playing Hamlet, opens March 4 on the Jerome Stage at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. March 4, 5 and 6 are preview nights with opening night on Saturday March 7. The production is the second Rolling World Premiere for the National New Play Network for Women Playing Hamlet's author William Missouri Downs.

Mark Jacoby, Brit Whittle and More to Star in Milwaukee Rep's World Premiere of FIVE PRESIDENTS This Spring

Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced final casting for the upcoming World Premiere production of Five Presidents. Broadway and television veterans Mark Jacoby, Martin L'Herault, Steve Sheridan, Jeff Steitzer, and Brit Whittle, along with Rep Associate Artist Reese Madigan, make up the cast of Five Presidents from Emmy Award-winning writer Rick Cleveland (The West Wing, House of Cards, Mad Men, and Six Feet Under).

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. NJ Rep's ANGELS AND MINISTERS OF GRACE Opens Next Week

Kevin Cochran is the director, with choreography by Lisa Hopkins and Musical Direction by Janice Rodgers Wainwright. The production will play two school performances today, January 31st, and open to the public on Saturday, February 1st at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, February 16 only.

Possum Point Players to Present Stage Adaptation of LAURA, 1/31-2/9

Possum Point Players brings the brilliant murder mystery "LAURA" to their Possum Hall stage beginning Friday, January 31, 2014. The story of LAURA is best known from the 1944 American film noir version directed by Otto Preminger. It stared Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews, Clifton Webb, Vincent Price and Judith Anderson. The screenplay by Jay Dratler, Samuel Hoffenstein, and Elizabeth Reinhardt was based on the 1943 novel of the same title by Vera Caspary. Joseph LaShelle won the Academy Award for Best Black and White Cinematography for this film.
