CBS 2's Dana Tyler hosts 'Eye on the Tony Awards,' a half-hour special taking a look at the Broadway shows nominated for the annual Tony Awards. This special will air on CBS 2 Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 7:30PM. The show focuses on this year's best new musicals and plays, newly revived productions, and interviews with world renowned actors such as Denzel Washington (Fences) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (A Little Night Music).
Fire Island Pines Arts Project presents its summer season of performances. The first concert of the season will feature Tony Award Winner Jane Krakowski on June 12. Krakowski will perform in Whyte Hall at the Brandon Fradd Theatre, the concert will begin at 9pm.

The American Film Institute and TV Land announced today that American film's finest performers Cher, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are among the many in the arts and entertainment community who are scheduled to appear when AFI honors beloved film, television and stage director Mike Nichols with the AFI Life Achievement Award. The gala will take place on Thursday, June 10th in the historic Stage 15 on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, CA. The New York Times is reporting that EVITA is officially set for a Spring 2012 revival, produced by Hal Luftig and Scott Sanders, directed by Michael Grandage (who directed the recent London revival) and starring Elena Roger and Ricky Martin.
Jude Law will receive the president's prize at this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Variety reports today. The festival, located in the town of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, will take place from July 2 to July 10. The film 'The Talented Mr. Ripley,' which features Law in an Academy Award nominated performance, will be shown at the festival.
Producer Arielle Tepper Madover, currently represented on Broadway with the Tony Award®-nominated play Red, announced today that she has acquired the production rights for the beloved Tony Award®-winning musical ANNIE and will produce an all-new production of it for Broadway, opening in Fall, 2012.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Daniel Craig is in early talks to star in 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.' Sony, which is producing the upcoming film says there is no current offer being made, however Craig is scheduled to meet with Davis Fincher the director of the film sometime this week.
Voting is fully underway for BroadwayWorld's 2010 Theatre Fans' Choice Awards, with thousands of votes already in and recording voting numbers already being set. So far there have been early leads established for some surprising and not so suprising early leaders.
Well my lovelies, we are now only days away from the 2010 Tonys. As you know from reading my last few columns and my frequent excited tweets, the Awards have been on my mind for weeks. I'm getting exponentially more excited as the day grows closer; it seems like now is the time to post my analysis of the nominees - including my picks for who should, and who will, win big this year.
