New York Russian Jewish Youth Council Hosts Eclectic Beat Box, 9/2

The New York Russian Jewish Youth Council (NYRJYC) kicks off the fall season on Thursday, September 2nd at 7PM with Eclectic Beat Box. The event will be at Soiree (199 Bowery St.) and features live musical performances, hip Israeli landscapes and some of the best bands the city has to offer. Tickets are $10; all proceeds from the event will go to benefit Sunrise Lake Camp, a residential summer camp in Cold Spring, New York that provides programming to children afflicted with cancer.

After a year of producing numerous, successful artistic and community based projects, 'Isramerica' returns to its roots with another signature showcase of Music, Comedy and Theatre hosted at City Winery on Sunday, June 20th 2010 at 8pm.

David Broza is set to perform LIVE at (Le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street) on Monday, June 14 in support of his recent release Night Dawn: The Unpublished Poetry of Townes Van Zandt. The 12-song set was produced by David Broza and G.E. Smith (Hall & Oates, Saturday Night Live) and features 10 previously unreleased lyrics and poems written by the late Townes Van Zandt-one cover of the last song Van Zandt wrote and one instrumental Broza wrote for Van Zandt.

The brand new Theatre C theatre company launched its premiere season at the Barrow Street Theatre on November 2nd with ACTIVATE!, a benefit gala for the opening of the company. The evening featured acrobats from Fuerzabruta, musical numbers from Jafferis and Williams' Kingdom and Peña and Ferguson's Orpheus and Eurydice, and scenes from David Zellnik's Serendib.

Rehearsals have been in full swing (pardon the pun) in NYC for the past two weeks. The entire cast and crew move into the Carousel House on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park next week. Most of the actors a excited to expose their full frontal profile and can't wait to show audiences their tanlines. The story of 6 unemployed steel workers who take it off, and I mean ALL off, for some attention from their loved ones, quick cash to pay their bills, and to finally prove to themselves that sexiness is not how you look but how you grind the goods.

ReVision Theatre will present the East Coast Premiere of the new Latin Hip Hop rock musical Kingdom, to play the VFW Theatre, 701 Lake Avenue, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, April 16-May 3. Carlos Armesto will direct, with music direction by Michael Thomas Murray and choreography by Tiffany Rachelle Stewart.
