I am not sure which leg of the national tour that Denver is positioned, but the show just felt tired and devoid of the fiery passion that is the Argentinian spirit.

The Warner Stage Company's Main Stage Musical Season continues on Feb 1 with the opening night of EVITA.

I've never particularly warmed to Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Evita". Like most of his shows it just feels like a lot of flash and very little substance. So I can't really come at this production from the point of view of a fan of the show but I can point out some truly stirring performances within it.

Argentina's controversial First Lady is the subject of this dynamic musical masterpiece. As an illegitimate fifteen year old, Eva escaped her dirt-poor existence for the bright lights of Buenos Aires. Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, she was a starlet at twenty-two, the president's mistress at twenty-four, First Lady at twenty-seven, and dead at thirty-three.

With perhaps the wittiest and most memorable promotional tool thought up in the theatre this year, the national tour of EVITA has introduced an image advertising faux tissue packets emblazoned with the show's iconic logo along with a reference to the mega-musical's biggest song, 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina'.

Those singing trailer park angels (and 2010 'America's Got Talent' finalists - appearing as the '3 Redneck Tenors' are packing their festive Christmas mullets and will be dashing through the snow just in time for some down-home holiday cheer with '3 Redneck Tenors Christmas SPEC-TAC-YULE-AR' at the Spencer Theater at 8 p.m., tonight, December 13.

"Three Redneck Tenors Christmas Spec-Tac-Yule-Ar" Friday, December 13 at 8 p.m. ($79-$76). These operatically-trained trailer park boys are dashing through the snow in time for down-home Christmas cheer. Packed with classic and pop holiday favorites and lots of deep-fried comedic delight, this comedy features the singing cousins Billy Joe, Billy Bob, and Billie Billee as they celebrate the holidays with down-home country laughs and big city music. Following its critically acclaimed run in 2013 EVITA will continue to tour the UK into 2014, opening at New Theatre, Oxford on Wednesday 22 January.

According to the Stage, Bill Kenwright Limited is looking into transferring ten shows to the West End in 2014, including the UK tour of Fame and the Regent's Park Open Air production of The Sound of Music. Other musicals in the running include the Marti Pellow and Madalena Alberto-led touring production of Evita, and Cabaret, starring Will Young.

Happy Birthday Michael Cerveris! Cerveris, who currently plays 'Juan Peron' in Evita, has also appeared on Broadway in In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Cymbeline, LoveMusik, Sweeney Todd, Children And Art, Passion, Assassins, Titanic and The Who's Tommy. His Off-Broadway credits include Road Show, King Lear, an oak tree, The Apple Tree, Wintertime, Fifth of July, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Blood Sports and Total Eclipse. Cerveris has also performed in regional productions of Anyone Can Whistle, Spring Awakening, Sunday in the Park with George, Chess and more.

Los Angeles Broadway World TV Correspondents Michael Sterling and Anthony 'A.J.' Hernandez were on hand to not only talk to tour stars Caroline Bowman (Eva Peron), Josh Young (Che) and Sean MacLaughlin (Juan Peron) and Evita Producer Hal Luftig, but such Hollywood celebrities as Shirley Jones, Marty Ingels, Patrick Cassidy, Sam Harris, Greg Louganis and partner Johnny Chaillot, Disney's G. Hannelius (Dog with a Blog), Hal Sparks (Disney XD's Lab Rats) among others. In addition to Hal Luftig, Evita Producers include Scott Sanders, Troika Entertainment & The Nederlander Organization. The production officially opened at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood October 24 and will continue its limited run there through November 10, 2013. Check out the video below!

EVITA has returned to L.A. by way of Hollywood Pantages for a limited three week engagement, now through November 10, 2013. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Michael Grandage and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford, this national touring production comes directly from the first new Broadway revival of the seven-time Tony Award-winning musical, since it debuted on Broadway over 30 years ago. I have to confess that other than the misguided movie that was made out of EVITA, the only other presentation I'd seen was New Line Theatre's wonderfully intimate version a couple of years ago. So, I was curious as to how this show would play on a bigger venue's stage. I wasn't disappointed and you won't be either. The current production playing the Fox Theatre is a dazzling mixture of song (score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics and book by Tim Rice) and dance that's both engaging and thoroughly entertaining.

Performances of EVITA at the Fabulous Fox Theatre run tonight, October 8 -20. Show times are Today through Saturday evenings at 8pm, Saturday afternoons at 2pm and Sunday afternoons at 1pm. There will be an evening performance on Sunday, October 13 at 6pm and a matinee on Thursday, October 17 at 1pm.

Broadway headliner and EVITA tour lead Josh Young joined with his EVITA leading lady, Caroline Bowman, to perform the ingratiating and tender ballad 'High Flying Adored' from the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice score earlier this week and a full video of the sensational performance has now been released.
