NBC has released a sneak peek of the opening montage for SMASH Season 2, premiering Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 9/8c. In the number, Katharine McPhee's 'Karen' performs the song "Cut, Print, Moving On," from the show's fictional musical 'Bombshell'.

SMASH makes its long-awaited return to the NBC lineup for a second season on Tuesday, February 5 (9-10 p.m. ET) and will continue in its regular time slot on Tuesday, February 12 (10-11 p.m. ET). Season two will feature a slew of new talent, including Jennifer Hudson, Jeremy Jordan, Andy Mientus, Krysta Rodriguez, Sean Hayes, Jesse L. Tony nominated actress Montego Glover has been tapped to play the recurring role of ‘Marissa' in Season two of NBC's SMASH, currently filming in New York. Marissa is described as the compassionate, authoritative stage manager. Glover won a Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle award for Best Actress in a Musical for the Tony Award Winning MEMPHIS on Broadway and has been previously seen on The Good Wife, White Collar and Made In Jersey. She is repped by DGRW and Liebman Entertainment.

NBC and Columbia Records announced that the soundtrack for Bombshell, the musical within NBC's Golden Globe-nominated series television hit 'SMASH' (Tuesdays, 10-11pm ET), will be released on February 12. Bombshell is available now for pre-order.

Entertainment superstar Liza Minnelli - winner of an Oscar, two Golden Globes, a Grammy, an Emmy and multiple Tony Awards - will guest-star as herself in NBC's musical drama SMASH in the upcoming season, and will sing an original song with series star Christian Borle that was written by the show's celebrated composer and lyricists Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 2013 Golden Globes Awards this morning, live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Among the nominations was the hit NBC musical drama SMASH, which was given a nod for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical. SMASH stars Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty commented on the news this morning.
