Up on the Marquee: HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME

HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, the new Broadway musical inspired by the lyrics of Tupac Shakur, will now begin previews on Monday, June 2 rather than the previously announced date of May 29, with opening night on Thursday, June 19 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street). Broadway's HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME Pushes First Preview to 6/2

HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, the new Broadway musical inspired by the lyrics of Tupac Shakur, will now begin previews on Monday, June 2 rather than the previously announced date of May 29, in order to allow for a longer tech schedule in the theatre. The official opening remains unchanged on Thursday, June 19 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street).

According to the Wall Street Journal, audience members seated in the orchestra of the upcoming Broadway musical, 'Holler If Ya Hear Me,' will have a movie-theatre-esque experience. The production is spending $200,000 to alter the arrangement of seats in the orchestra, with hopes of augmenting the theatre's sense of intimacy.

Alliance Theatre Stages CHOIR BOY, Now thru 10/13

The Alliance Theatre has announced the American premiere of CHOIR BOY, a modern coming of age story by Tarell Alvin McCraney, winner of the 2008 Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition for his play In The Red and Brown Water. The American premiere of CHOIR BOY is co-produced by the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York, where CHOIR BOY opened earlier this month to outstanding reviews. The New York production has been extended twice due to popular demand and will close August 11. CHOIR BOY will run on the Hertz Stage at the Alliance Theatre September 20 - October 13, 2013. Opening night is Wednesday, September 25, 2013.

Rob McClure Joins Prospect Theater Company's Annual Gala Tonight

Prospect Theater Company presents its annual gala, 2013's Spring Soiree, in the Harbor View Room at Battery Gardens, a beautiful and unique waterside location nestled at the southernmost corner of Battery Park. This special one-night only event will be held on Monday, May 6 from 6pm - 10:30pm, with an 8pm concert performance, to feature performances by Broadway friends as well as Prospect stars!
