The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra welcomes three new musicians to the roster for the 2013.14 season: Yuka Kadota, first violin; Alexander Ayers, second violin; and David Cohen, acting associate principal trumpet.

McCarter Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 roster of world-renowned artists on its 2013-14 Presenting Series. During the upcoming season, McCarter will present over 40 performances by world-class performing artists curated by Special Programming Director William W. Lockwood. Mr. Lockwood has been responsible for McCarter's special programming for over 50 years, and remains the senior arts presenter in the country. The Met's annual concert series in New York City parks is one of the most popular summer traditions in the city. The Summer Recital Series returns in 2013 with six performances in the parks of all five boroughs. The series kicks off with a concert at Central Park SummerStage on July 16, featuring rising opera stars soprano Erin Morley, mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard and tenor Stephen Costello. The Brooklyn concert takes place at Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 1, the largest pier of the park on the East River.

The 2013 Mostly Mozart Festival comes to a close in its fourth week, with more than 10 events taking place between August 19 and August 24. The final week begins with a special chamber music concert by the celebrated Emerson String Quartet, 7:00pm on August 19 at Alice Tully Hall. The ensemble, which made its first Festival appearance in 1983 and has performed nearly every season since that time, makes its highly anticipated first New York City appearance with its newest member, cellist Paul Watkins. The Emerson String Quartet will add to the Festival's overarching focus on Beethoven by performing all three of Beethoven's famed "Razumovsky" Quartets: String Quartet in F major, Op. 59; String Quartet in E minor, Op. 59; and String Quartet in C major, Op. 59.
Beginning today, June 30, 120 of the country's finest young musicians, ages 16-19, come together for the inaugural residency and tour of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America, a new annual tuition-free program created by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute. NYO-USA's 2013 summer schedule includes five concerts in the US and abroad from July 11 to 21, with performances in Purchase, NY; Washington, DC; Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia; and London, England.
