The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is proud to announce full casting for the Theatre Company's production of Robert Schenkkan's Tony-Award winning drama, All The Way.
Twenty-six years ago, the day after thousands of soldiers in China's so called People's Liberation Army cleared Tiananmen Square, killing what could have been thousands of students who had been protesting there, a lone man with plastic grocery bags stood in front of a line of advancing tanks there.
Elitch Gardens, now in its 21st year downtown since relocating from northwest Denver, remains one of Colorado's the most popular entertainment destinations. It now features a vast array of modern roller-coasters, and because many of 'The 12' cast members from the DCPA Theatre Company are thrill-ride aficionados, the staff at Elitch's invited cast members Tuesday to ride the famous Carousel, which dates back to 1927 - and two coaster rides: The Brain Drain and the Boomerang. In conjunction with the internationally acclaimed music-infused production, The Suit, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced today a partnership with Dress for Success San Francisco during the engagement of the production (April 23-May 18, 2014) to help garner donations for the celebrated non-profit and save on tickets to A.C.T. performances.
I truly appreciate when a show realizes it doesn't need all the flash, all the bells and whistles, in order to be great. Sometimes a show has such a simple and straightforward story to tell that it just needs to tell it. Such is the case with "The Suit" currently playing at the Seattle Rep. This heartbreaking tale has such simple innate beauty that it needs only some chairs, a few musicians and a trio of gifted actors to convey the tragic allure of itself.
