BWW Review: Stoneham Theatre's FORUM: A Comedy Tonight

Stoneham Theatre opens its 16th season with A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, directed by Weylin Symes and Ilyse Robbins. Front and center for the nonsense is Neil A. Casey, surrounded by a stand-out cast, including Kathy St. George, Chip Phillips, Jordan Ahnquist, and Mark Linehan. Ribald jokes and vaudeville shtick are cause for eye-rolling, but your ears will feast on the gathering of voices covering the Stephen Sondheim score.

Lovejoy and Executive Director Veronique Le Melle on Monday, September 29 for a ribbon-cutting, rededication, and celebration in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Israeli Stage Announces Its Fifth Anniversary Season

Israeli Stage, sharing the diversity and vitality of Israeli culture through theatre, proudly announces 2014-2015, its fifth anniversary season, featuring its first full theatrical production: the North American premiere of Ulysses on Bottles by Gilad Evron, winner of Best Israeli Play (2012), presented in partnership with ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage. This new drama features award-winning actors Jeremiah Kissel, Will Lyman, and Karen MacDonald, all who performed in the Israeli Stage staged reading of this play in 2012 at the Goethe-Institut Boston. Performances will take place April 9-25, 2015 in the Jackie Liebergott Black Box at the Emerson/Paramount Center (559 Washington Street) in Boston's theatre district. Tickets range from $25-49 and may be purchased by visiting artsemerson.org.

Israeli Stage to Present THE BANALITY OF LOVE for Over 400 Students, 4/28

Israeli Stage and CJP partner to present Savyon Liebrecht's The Banality of Love on BU's campus as a campus-wide initiative to commemorate Yom Ha'Shoa (Holocaust Day). Some 400+ students are expected to attend from the Greater Boston Area. (CJP and Hillels will be providing shuttles for students attending school outside of Boston proper; 300+ BU Students will be in attendance as well as 100+ Students from the surrounding area schools). Free Admission.

Threesome Without Simone Set for German Stage

German Stage presents this psychological thriller, Threesome Without Simone, featuring Jordan Ahnquist, and brothers David Berger-Jones and Daniel Berger Jones, directed by Guy Ben-Aharon. There will be a Q&A following the performance with award-winning playwright Kristo Sagor. Mr. Sagor will be giving lectures at Brandeis University, Harvard University's ART Institute and Boston University while in Boston.

Stoneham Theatre to Present Theresa Rebeck's SEMINAR, 9/12-29

Written by Theresa Rebeck, creator of the TV show Smash, Seminar is a contemporary comedy which tells the story of four young writers who hire a world-famous novelist to teach a seminar. When tempers, egos and libidos flare, these students end up getting the schooling of their lives. 'Theresa Rebeck is one of the main reasons we are doing this show. She's a wonderfully talented and very funny writer,' Symes added. 'I couldn't pass up the opportunity to produce her newest play.'
