Damon Intrabartolo's POP NATION, with Anthony Fedorov, Delays Performances Until Mid December

BroadwayWorld has just learned that POP NATION, a theatrical social event merging music, theater and the nightclub experience, has delayed performances at Hudson (356 W. 58th Street at 9th Avenue). THe show was previously set to begin previews on November 14th with opening night set for January 8th. POP NATION has original music and lyrics by Damon Intrabartolo (bare, 'Superman Returns,' 'X Men 2') and book by Kenny Finkle (Indoor/Outdoor). A press representative has confirmed that the show will now begin in mid December because 'mounting the massive production has taken longer than expected.' (more...)

Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie and the new musical Nine Wives (by Douglas J. Cohen and Dan Elish) will play Stage 2 in the Bok Gallery. The 2010 New York Clown Theatre Festival begins on September 3 with its traditional opening day parade from Union Square through the L line subway to Williamsburg, followed by an open-to-the-public pie fight at The Brick Theater. The festival closes on September 26 with the traditional closing day Funeral, with clowns weeping and wailing in the streets of Williamsburg. This year's festival will also present 5 different clown cabarets, including a cabaret devoted to clowns over 50, Short and Fatty's Half-Century Extravaganza. (more...)
