Lea Michele and Andrea Martin scheduled for upcoming Broadway Artists Alliance Master Classes

The 53rd annual Village Voice Obie Awards were presented last night at a ceremony at Webster Hall, an East Village landmark in Manhattan.

The producers of Spring Awakening, Broadway's groundbreaking musical hit, are pleased to announce that Kyle Riabko will step into the role of Melchior on May 20th. At the same performance, Alexandra Socha will take over the role of Wendla.

They are taking over the roles created by Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele who will be playing their final performance on May 18th.

Seth Rudetsky, the Emmy-nominated writer, host and comic, also returned as its musical director as did director Alan Muraoka (NAATCO's Falsettoland).

The new season on Broadway will begin with fireworks the day after July 4th when the musical [title of show] begins previews at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W. 45 St) on Saturday, July 5th prior to its official opening night on July 17th. [title of show] -- a most original American musical about the making of an original musical -- will be produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, Laura Camien, Roy Miller, Kris Stewart and The Vineyard Theatre, where [title of show] had its Off-Broadway debut in 2006.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Mara Manus) announced additional casting today for the 2008 Shakespeare in the Park summer season. Andre Braugher and Lily Rabe will join the company as Claudius and Ophelia, respectively, in Oskar Eustis' production of HAMLET. They join the previously announced Michael Stuhlbarg as Hamlet and Richard Easton as Polonius. HAMLET will begin previews on Tuesday, May 27 and run through Sunday, June 29.
