Rosie's Theater Kids has just announced the celebration of their 10th anniversary with a star studded Gala in NYC at the Marriot Marquis onWednesday, September 25, 2013. RTKids will commemorate this incredible milestone with a tribute to an extraordinary and deserving individual and longtime supporter: Sheila Nevins, President, HBO Documentary Films. They are thrilled to recognize Sheila for her unwavering commitment to the arts. RTKids will also be awarding the Inaugural Velvet Seat Award to none other than their founder - multiple Emmy Award winning television host and actress - Rosie O'Donnell - whose commitment to the students of RTKids knows no bounds.

According to Deadline, BEHIND THE CANDELABRA's Scott Bakula has signed on for the eight-episode series, which follows three friends who explore the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men. Frankie J. Alvarez, Jonathan Groff and Murray Bartlett also star. Andrew Haigh directed the pilot.

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) will welcome kef theatrical productions THE AWAKE, written by Ken Urban and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. THE AWAKE begins performances tonight, August 22 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 8.

The Walt Disney Studios unveiled new details about its upcoming animation slate this morning at the D23 Expo, showcasing new imagery, signature music and behind-the-scenes stories surrounding the roster of upcoming animated adventures. The presentation included information about the just-announced feature film “Zootopia”(working title) from Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the newest film in Disneytoon Studios' Disney Fairies franchise, plus never-before-shared voice cast announcements for upcoming Disney•Pixar titles that include Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris and Diane Keaton, among a host of others.

Billy Porter, 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Actor in a Musical (Kinky Boots) surprised students of Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive Session One with his appearance on July 25th. HBO has announced that BD Wong, Denis O'Hare, Joel Grey and Stephen Spinella have joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's upcoming film adaptation of Larry Kramer's THE NORMAL HEART. The historic drama is scheduled to premiere on the cable network in 2014.
