The production then embarks on a major 47-week tour visiting theatres throughout the UK and in Ireland, until 25 July 2015.

Opening at New Wimbledon Theatre on Tuesday 12 August 2014 the production will tour until Saturday 25 July 2015.

According to an Equity casting notice, Top Hat, which won Best New Musical at the 2013 Olivier Awards, will get a New York City developmental lab March 7-20. Tony-winner Christopher Gatelli is set to helm the project as director and choreographer.

The show has been said to be aimed towards Broadway since it first opened, with American producers on board from day one. Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that 'Tune, now 74, is getting back in the game. At the behest of his good friend Jimmy Nederlander, a theater legend in his own right, Tune's in London inspecting a new show called 'Top Hat.'

Top Hat, which opened in London last year starring Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen, has picked up seven Oliviers nominations, as revealed this morning.

The National Theatre's production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time leads the list with eight nominations, followed by the toe-tapping new musical Top Hat receiving seven, and the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's revival of Sweeney Todd in close competition with six. Other stand-out nominations include The Audience and Kiss Me, Kate receiving five each, and Constellations, The Bodyguard and Twelfth Night with four.

Gavin Lee and Kristen Beth Williams are leading the new cast of the West End hit musical Top Hat as Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont. They are joined by Olivier award nominee Alex Gaumond as Alberto Beddini and Clive Hayward as Horace Hardwick, with Vivien Parry (Madge) and Stephen Boswell (Bates) continuing in the production.
