Cathy Weis Projects announces the lineup for the spring 2019 season of Sundays on Broadway, an ongoing series of performances, film screenings, readings, and discussions on Sunday evenings at WeisAcres. The spring season is curated by Cathy Weis and guest curators Emily Climer, Jon Kinzel, Melanie Maar, and Vicky Shick. All events begin at 6pm. $10 suggested donation at the door. WeisAcres is located at 537 Broadway, #3 (between Prince and Spring Streets), in Manhattan.

La MaMa Presents NOW MY HAND IS READY FOR MY HEART: INTIMATE HISTORIES

La MaMa is proud to present the world premiere of now my hand is ready for my heart: intimate histories, the newest work from Nicky Paraiso, an award-winning 40-year veteran of the New York City performance community. In a deep exploration of an artist's life, Paraiso investigates aging, identity, sexuality, class and race. Directed by MacArthur Fellow John Jesurun, now my hand is ready for my heart: intimate histories is also a multi-disciplinary celebration of an artistic community as it grows older and continues to make work, both individually and with each other.

La MaMa Fills 57th Season with Over 50 Premieres

On the heels of having won the 2018 Regional Theater Tony Award, LA MAMA Experimental Theatre Club (ETC) announces its 57th season of productions, according to Mia Yoo, the company's artistic director. The season includes over 50 U.S., NYC and world premiere productions.

The Soaking Wet dance series welcomes back Vicky Shick and Dancers for Program A (May 10-12 at 7 PM), and artists of Women in Motion for Program B (May 10-12 at 8:30 PM & May 13 at 2 PM) at the West End Theater, 263 West 86th Street, 2nd floor of the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew.   Soaking Wet, curated by David Parker and Jeff Kazin, can be looked to for presentations that are surprising, inclusive, and that celebrate all styles and descriptions of dance.   Hundreds of choreographers and dancers have performed in the intimate West End Theater (= W.E.T.) over the past fifteen years.

The spring season is jointly curated by dance artists Ishmael Houston-Jones, Jon Kinzel, Jennifer Lafferty, and Cathy Weis. All events begin at 6pm. $10 suggested donation at door. WeisAcres is located at 537 Broadway, #3 (between Prince and Spring Streets), in Manhattan.

Works & Process At The Guggenheim Presents A Dance Commission NEW BODIES

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents an encore of choreographer Jodi Melnick's sold-out 2016 commission, NEW BODIES. This Works & Process commissioned work weaves together dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with live music, featuring New York City Ballet dancers Jared Angle, Sara Mearns, and Taylor Stanley in a role originated by Gretchen Smith, with harpsichord by composer Gy rgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and commissioned music by Robert Boston.Also, Melnick, who enjoyed a performance career with Twyla Tharp (among many others), will perform One of Sixty-Five Thousand Gestures, a solo work created in collaboration with the late Trisha Brown.
