The New York premiere of the new Australian musical, Errol and Fidel, with book by Boyd Anderson and Guy Anderson, music by Peter Kaldor, John Kaldor and Doug Oberhamer, and lyrics by Boyd Anderson, is an Official Selection of the 2017 New York Musical Festival, and the only international production chosen this year. It will be directed by Michael Bello, with choreography by Justin Boccitto and music direction, arrangements & orchestrations by Doug Oberhamer. Errol and Fidel had the honor of opening the festival on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 7:00pm and will play a total of five performances at Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). Beloved Broadway shows were stripped down, sexied up and given a Broadway Bares twist at this year's edition of Broadway Bares Fire Island. Inspired by some of the theatre's greatest hits and set to pop music, the evening brought Broadway style to classic striptease. The Gateway's exciting Long Island premiere of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert went off without a hitch this past weekend at The Patchogue Theatre. Running through August 6th, I really can't stress enough that this musical is incredibly enjoyable and the cast, directed by David Ruttura, is top-notch. There were some changes from the 2011 Broadway production, but your big, glittery heart will definitely be smiling as you leave the theatre.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical opened at Patchogue Theatre presented by The Gateway on July 20 and will run through August 6.

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announced today that Kevin J. O'Neill, Executive Producer and Jon Cooper, Majority Leader, Suffolk County Legislature, will lead a press conference on Tuesday, July 28 at 11:00 am to discuss the theater's set goal to raise $50,000 for AIDS care on Long Island during the Long Island professional premiere of the award winning Broadway hit RENT this fall (September 10 - November 1, 2009).
