Jackalope Theatre Company, the Edgewater based group which cultivates theatre that manifests the adventure deeply rooted in the American mythos, announces their new storefront home - The Frontier, new company members, and their lineup of summer programming, including the world premiere of THE CASUALS, a remount of LONG WAY GO DOWN and the 4th ANNUAL LIVING NEWSPAPERS FESTIVAL.

Jackalope Theatre Company, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, is pleased to present the world premiere of THE CASUALS, co-written by Chance Bone and Andrew Burden Swanson and directed by Jonathan Berry, now playing through July 28, 2013 at The Storefront Theater, 66 E. Broken Nose Theatre (BNT) is proud to present the Chicago premiere of ROOMS: a rock romance, a new musical by Paul Scott Goodman and Miriam Gordon, in Collaboraction's Pentagon space in the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N Milwaukee Ave, July 6 -August 11. Directed by Broken Nose Artistic Director Benjamin Brownson (My First Time) and with music direction by Austin Cook (Putting it Together, Some Enchanted Evening), ROOMS: a rock romance runs Thursdays-Sundays at 8 p.m. Preview performances are from July 6 to July 13, with Opening Night on Sunday, July 14, at 8 p.m. Ticket prices range from $15-$30 and are available online at www.brokennosetheatre.com.

Today we are talking to a charming and affable presence onstage and onscreen who has scored in a wide range of roles in the West End and throughout the UK from his work as Bobby in COMPANY to MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, MARGUERITE and many more to, now, starring in the Theatre du Chatelet production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE in the title role, Julian Ovenden. In addition to revealing details about the Paris Sondheim production, Ovenden also offers thoughts on his Sondheim work in general. Additionally, Ovenden illustrates his impressions of two spectacular small screen ventures - essaying the role of JFK in the musical-within-the-series on SMASH as well as preparing to play a pivotal role in the new season of DOWNTON ABBEY.
