Just Announced: Collins, Stokes Mitchell, Kidjo & More Lead Town Hall's 2010 Season

The Town Hall, Broadway's landmark concert venue, has announced its 2010 season lineup. Headliners include Grammy Award-winning folk icon Judy Collins, Grammy Award-winning Afro-funk singer Angélique Kidjo, Tony Award-winning Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell, jazz singer Lizz Wright with Grammy-nominated jazz bassist Richard Bona and world music sensations Tito Paris and Lura. Also appearing are stars from ABC's Dancing with the Stars and PBS' America's Ballroom Challenge for Champions of the Dance, Richard Nader's Doo Wop Party, the acclaimed, singing political satirists Capitol Steps and the 10th anniversary season of the popular hit series Broadway by the Year, called 'an annual event that is treasured by Broadway babies' by Stephen Holden of The New York Times.

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) is pleased to announce that the box office is now open for its dinner theater presentation of Kander & Ebbs musical Cabaret The performances will be held on October 16 and 17, 2009 at the Franklin Country Club and will include dinner being served between 6:30 and 7:30 pm with the show starting at 8:00 pm.

As the show's title Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda suggests, the evening's selections are from musicals she either auditioned for, shows she thinks she could/should have starred in, or-as in the case of Evita-shows that made her the star she is today.

'The Concert to End Polio,' presented by Rotary International, with the New York Philharmonic and violinist Itzhak Perlman, will feature Liszt's tone poem, Les Préludes; Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, with Mr. Perlman; Tchaikovsky's Capriccio italien; and the Theme from Schindler's List by John Williams and Kreisler's Tambourin Chinois, both with Mr. Perlman.

Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Sammy, a new musical based on the life of Sammy Davis, Jr. with book, music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, and additional songs by Bricusse and Anthony Newley. Directed by Keith Glover with choreography by Keith Young and music supervision by Ian Fraser, Sammy will run in the Old Globe Theatre Sept. 19 - Nov. 8. Previews run from Sept. 19 - Oct. 1. Opening night is Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m.
