Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters makes her Auditorium Theatre debut, and her first Chicago appearance in over 10 years, on March 31 when she joins the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra for a mixed program that features a tribute to George Gershwin and a medley of Broadway hits and classics.

The Houston Symphony announced Friday that concert tickets for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial-Film with Live Orchestra are now on sale. The screening of the blockbuster film with John Williams' Academy Award-winning score performed live to picture will take place at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9, 2017.

The Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra will present a free concert at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on Wednesday, December 7 at 7:30 pm. This performance is not only intended to remember those who served and died in the attack, but to salute the remaining survivors and all who have served in the armed forces. Maestro Rob Fisher, Tony and Grammy-recognized for his work with the New York Philharmonic and the New York Shakespeare Festival will lead the HSO in a patriotic program that includes Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and John Williams' "Hymn to the Fallen" from the film Saving Private Ryan.

The Oakland Symphony, Michael Morgan Music Director and conductor, will be joined by guest violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins—currently on Broadway as the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof-- and members of its acclaimed Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra for Lost Romantic Symphonies Today, November 18, at 8 pm at the Paramount Theatre. The concert will feature Hall-Tompkins performing the U.S. premiere of Siegfried Matthus' new violin concerto, Dream of a Summer Night, along with John Williams' Theme from Schindler's List and Fiddler on the Roof. The program also includes Joachim Raff's rarely performedSymphony No. 3, and the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, back from its Cuban Tour, will join the Symphony for Gershwin's Cuban Overture. The concert will be preceded by a talk by John Kendall-Bailey at 7 pm that is free to ticket holders and the entire evening is sponsored by The Grubb Company.
