Kenny Loggins to be Special Guest at Boston Pops Summer Tour, 8/16 - 30

Boston pops announces first-ever summer tour of minor league ballparks, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, with special guest Kenny Loggins. Boston pops performs great music inspired by our national pastime and Hollywood hits from the iconic film scores of our time. 10-city tour to include stops at the homes of the Durham Bulls, Charlotte Knights, Gwinnett Braves, Nashville Sounds, Memphis Redbirds, Birmingham Barons, Buffalo Bisons, Rochester Red Wings, Syracuse Chiefs, and New Britain Rock Cats

The Belle Brigade Announces Their Fall Tour

Having just wrapped a summer-long tour with k.d. lang, Los Angeles' The Belle Brigade have announced that they will hit the road this fall for a series of dates with Groupe Love, followed by a tour with Blitzen Trapper and Dawes.

Cooperstown Summer Music Festival to Feature BSO Members

The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival will present a 'Boston Comes to Cooperstown' concert on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 pm at The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown. Performing are: Keisuke Wakao, assistant principal oboe at the Boston Symphony Orchestra; Alexander Velinzon, the BSO's assistant concertmaster; and violist Marcus Thompson, Artistic Director of the Boston Chamber Music Society. Joining them are NYC-based cellist Inbal Segev, and Festival artistic director, flutist Linda Chesis.

NY Philharmonic to Screen WEST SIDE STORY Film; Score Played Live

The New York Philharmonic will screen the multi-Academy Award-winning film West Side Story, with Leonard Bernstein's complete score performed live by the Orchestra, led by Academy Award-nominated film composer/conductor David Newman in his Philharmonic debut, Wednesday and Thursday, September 7 and 8, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. A new sound technology, developed by Paris-based Audionamix and utilized by Chace Audio by Deluxe, has isolated the dialogue and the vocal tracks, allowing the Orchestra to accompany the film in real time.

Atlanta Youth Orchestra To Perform With Atl Symphony

Student musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO) will perform a side-by-side concert with members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.
