For the first time ever, these three exciting Mexican artists are coming together to celebrate Dia de los Muertos by showcasing the diverse sounds of modern Mexico. Los Angeles-based La Santa Cecilia's unique sound blends Latin rhythms with rock and world music, earning them a Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album. Mexrrissey caringly reimagines songs by Morrissey and The Smiths in Spanish with a definitive Mexican instrumentation and voice. Grammy-nominated Mariachi Flor de Toloache is the first all-female mariachi group, whose distinct interpretation of this musical tradition most recently got them on tour with Dan Auerbach's band The Arcs.

Frequently described as a cross between steel and gossamer, Kander and Ebb's musical of Manuel Puig's mind-boggling novel Kiss of the Spider Woman is nothing short of breathtaking when properly produced. Dealing with reality versus illusion (steel, for prison bars and gossamer, the feminine side of Molina's mind), the play adapts perfectly to musical form, where Molina (Jeffrey Scott Parsons) and his troupe play out Aurora's (Natalie Nucci) screen life through song and dance. In fact, I've always found the musical more intriguing than Hector Babenco's 1985 film also because of the omnipresent operatic themes of romance, love, passion, violence and betrayal.

Artistic Director Jacqulyn Buglisi and Buglisi Dance Theatre are honored to be welcomed back by Lincoln Center for a 7th annual presentation of the transcendent '9/11 Table of Silence Project,' a public performance tribute to 9/11 and prayer for peace and healing, conceived and choreographed by Jacqulyn Buglisi. The tribute will take place Monday September 11, beginning at 8:15 AM and concluding precisely at 8:46 AM, the moment when American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. Buglisi was inspired to create the 9/11 Table of Silence by Italian visual artist Rossella Vasta's sculptural installation of 100 ceramic plates that represent a banquet table uniting humanity. Given the unrelenting and tragic acts of terror and violence that continue in the world, '9/11 Table of Silence' remains as relevant and timely today as when it was first performed seven years ago at Lincoln Center.
