No Strings Theatre Company presents John Patrick Shanley's engaging and heartwarming dramatic comedy, "Outside Mullingar," directed by NSTC's Artistic Director, Ceil Herman. The play, opens NSTC's 2016-2017 season, opens Friday, August 26 and runs through Sunday, September 11 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N. Main Street in Las Cruces.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with the regional premiere of Tony Award-nominated Outside Mullingar. Written by John Patrick Shanley, the Oscar, Pulitzer, and Tony Award-winning author of Moonstruck and Doubt, this wry romantic comedy tells the tale of two eccentric, lovelorn neighbors split apart by family feuds and rustic fences as they stumble their thorny way toward the brink of happiness. Set amidst the rustic cottages of rural Ireland, this funny, poetic, and deeply moving Broadway hit asks if it is ever too late to take a chance on love. Outside Mullingar was praised by The New York Times as "Shanley's finest work since Doubt," and will be directed by Robert Kelley.

Founded and curated by Glory Kadigan, Playwrights for a Cause is the annual benefit hosted by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. ?WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Gregory Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced the directors for the upcoming 2016-2017 WaterTower Theatre Main Stage Season in The Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. Directing the season opener, Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash (October 7- 30, 2016) is B.J. Cleveland with Musical Direction by Sonny Franks. Next up, the regional premiere of Silent Sky (January 20-February 12, 2017) will be directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi. The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord (April 14-May 7, 2017) will be directed by Emily Scott Banks. Rene Moreno will return to direct Native Gardens (June 2- 25, 2017). Sunday in the Park With George (July 28-August 20, 2017) will be directed by Terry Martin, with Musical Direction by Jeff Lankov.

As playwright: Deity Clutch (2011), Sherlock Through The Looking-Glass (2013), and Breaking Bard (2015), which took home the Spirit of the Fringe Award for Best Writing, out of 200+ shows.

Playwright Erik Champney looks at the extremes people will go to in the name of self-preservation with Blankets and Bedtime: 3 Restless Plays, three one-act works where the truth can be the most unwelcome element of all. Presented by Pixie Theory Productions, and directed by Janet Bentley, the show will be performed beginning June 15 at the Downstairs Theater at The Paradise Factory, located at 64 East 4th Street, as part of Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. Past highlights from this celebrated program include the recent Tony nominees Hamilton, Bright Star, and The Humans.
