First presented in 1951 and filmed the following year, Women of Twilight is a hard-hitting 'all-women play' in which unmarried mothers are ruthlessly exploited by an unscrupulous, baby-farming landlady. Neglected for over half a century, Sylvia Rayman's blistering drama is a real find - and, sadly, still relevant today.

Mint Theater's A PICTURE OF AUTUMN Extends Through 7/27

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director) today announced a two week extension for for the American Premiere of A Picture of Autumn by N.C. Hunter, directed by Gus Kaikkonen. The Mint production will now run until July 27th at its home (311 West 43rd Street).

Brighton Fringe Secured Place as England's Largest Arts Festival in 2013

2013 saw Brighton Fringe cement its place as England's largest arts festival, with an estimated 270,000 attendees (31.4% increase on 2012) flocking to some of the 734 individual events (including 176 free ones), 3654 performances at 185 venues across the city - from the atmospheric Old Police Cells to the back seats of cars. 45,000 people visited our free Fringe City outdoor showcase events and an estimated 1.5 million pounds were spent on over 165,000 tickets, making the average ticket price £9.

OSL's 2013 Caramoor Music Festival to Feature DON CARLOS, SHE LOVES ME & More

From June to August, Orchestra of St. Luke's presents its 34th summer season at the Caramoor Music Festival, taking place in the beautiful al fresco Venetian Theater at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, New York. The five-concert series offers something for every musical taste, with a Broadway musical, symphonic masterworks, elegant chamber music for unusual groupings, and a longtime tradition of OSL's Caramoor residencies-Bel Canto operas under the baton of Will Crutchfield.

Pan Asian Rep Announces 36th Anniversary Season

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, under the artistic direction of Tisa Chang, will celebrate its 36th Anniversary Season in tribute to Japan with the world premiere production of Alvin Eng's THREE TREES, a new play that explores Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti's relationship with his muse, Japanese Existentialist Isaku Yanaihara, March 23 - April 14, 2013 at the West End Theatre, 263 West 86th Street, 2nd floor. The production's official opening will be on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 7:30PM. Ernest Abuba directs.

Vassar Drama Department Presents LYSISTRATA, 12/6-8

The Vassar Drama department will present three performances of Aristophanes' comedic satire about war and sex, Lysistrata, directed by guest artist Ianthe Demos, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, December 6, 7, and 8, at 8:00pm, in the Martel Theater of the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film. Demos, a 2000 Vassar graduate, co-founded the critically acclaimed One Year Lease theater company (OYL) in 2001 and their work has been widely praised by the New York Times and New York magazine among other outlets. Joe Orton's ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE will be directed by Daniel Goldstein and produced by Anne Kaufman and will star Nancy Opel (Kath) John Behlmann (Sloane) Paxton Whitehead (Kemp) and Marc Vietor (Ed).

Tommy Lee Jones Among Donostia Award Honorees at San Sebastian Festival

The 60th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will this year bestow its Donostia Awards on actors John Travolta, Ewan McGregor and Tommy Lee Jones and the Special 60th Anniversary Donostia Award going to director Oliver Stone. In 1969, Jones made his Broadway debut in John Osborne's A Patriot for Me. His other Broadway appearances include Four on a Garden and Ulysses in Nighttown.

Sanaa Lathan to Lead BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK at Geffen Playhouse; Full Cast Announced!

Stage and screen star Sanaa Lathan (A Raisin in the Sun, Contagion) returns to the title role in Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's By the Way, Meet Vera Stark for its West Coast premiere at the Geffen Playhouse. Lathan, who originated the character of Vera Stark in the critically acclaimed New York run, will once again take the stage as the 1930's era maid turned movie star, reunited with original cast member Kimberly Hebert Gregory (Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer) reprising her role as fellow aspiring African American actress Lottie. Broadway vet and Geffen alum Merle Dandridge (Spamalot, Rent, Aida) will take on the spicy role of Anna Mae, who fakes a Brazilian accent for a slice of fame, and former leading lady of ABC's Man Up, Amanda Detmer, will portray Gloria Mitchell, the white starlet dubbed "America's little sweetie pie" and Vera's first employer. Helmed by award-winning director Jo Bonney, the West Coast premiere cast also features Kevin Carroll (Paid in Full, Being John Malkovich), Spencer Garrett (Iron Man 3, Air Force One) and Geffen alum Mather Zickel (Extraordinary Chambers, Rachel Getting Married).
