After working together on the critically acclaimed run of the original play 'Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times)' at Theater for the New City in 2010 (written by Jonathan Blitstein, directed by Daniel Talbott), Daniel Abeles, Jonathan Blitstein, Nate Miller and Laura Ramadei teamed up to launch a new theater company called LESSER AMERICA. Theater For the New City has granted Lesser America a residency affording the group three full-scale productions in its inaugural year, the first residency of its kind at the theater.
Lee Daniels, who's most well known for directing PRECIOUS, has just signed on to develop and to direct ANNA IN THE TROPICS, a film adaptation of Nilo Cruz's Pulitzer and Steinberg Prize-winning play, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Cruz is on board to help develop the script as well.
According to Deadline.com, Michael Gambon has joined previously announced Dustin Hoffman and Joan Allen in HBO's Luck. The upcoming series will focus on the world of horse racing. Gambon will play Ace Bernstein.

According to Deadline.com, Joan Allen is set to make her TV debut HBO's new series, Luck. The stage and screen star will join previously announced Dustin Hoffman in the series. Allen will star as a woman in charge of a program, in which inmates care for injured racehorses. Additional cast members include: Kerry Condon, Ritchie Coster, Kevin Dunn, Dennis Farina, Jason Gedrick, Ian Hart, Jill Hennessy, Richard Kind, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz, Tom Payne and Gary Stevens.

A trailer recently premiered for the Philip Seymour Hoffman-helmed 'Jack Goes Boating.' As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, Hoffman is making his directing debut with the Overture Films picture, an adaptation of Bob Glaudini's Off-Broadway play.
