American Composers Forum (ACF) has named Todd Lerew (CalArts) the winner of the 2014 National Composition Contest for his work, flagging entrainment of ultradian rhythms and the consequences thereof. As a reward, Lerew has been given a cash prize of $2,000 and his piece will be toured by So Percussion in future seasons. The piece was commissioned by ACF along with the works of two other competition finalists -- Michael Laurello (Yale School of Music) and Kristina Warren (University of Virginia) -- which were workshopped by So Percussion as part of the the group's Summer Institute at Princeton University and premiered on July 20.

This November, the Roxy Regional Theatre brings the Great American Novel from the page to the stage with the regional premiere of F. Scott Fitzgerald's THE GREAT GATSBY. The production, adapted by Simon Levy, is the only stage version authorized by the Fitzgerald estate since 1926. A finalist for the PEN Literary Award in Drama, its world premiere at Minneapolis' Guthrie Theater commemorated the opening of the Guthrie's new three-stage center in July 2006.

TEMPE, Ariz., July 18, 2013 - US Airways (NYSE: LCC) today announced the appointment of Christine Kelly Singley to managing director, corporate communications. In her new role, Singley will aid the communications department as the airline prepares to close its merger with American Airlines later this fall.
