Theatre at the Center's BIG FISH Begins 5/7

The deeply moving, enchanting new Broadway musical for all ages BIG FISH continues Theatre at the Center's exceptional 25th anniversary 2015 season. With a book by John August and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, BIG FISH is based on the Columbia Pictures film screenplay of the same name by John August and Daniel Wallace's 1998 novel, Big Fish: A Novel of Mythical Proportions. Artistic Director and multiple Jeff Award-winner William Pullinsi lends his expertise in the first professional locally-produced staging of the beloved musical running May 7th through June 7th at 1040 Ridge Road in Munster with press opening on Sunday, May 10 at 7 p.m.

Writers Sign Petition Over Upcoming Neil Patrick Harris Variety Show & More

Today, over 175 comedy and variety writers have signed a petition urging ITV to enter a collective bargaining agreement to protect its nonfiction writer-producers, including those set for the 10 ordered episodes of NBC's Neil Patrick Harris' variety show announced back in October.

Cincinnati Playhouse to Present RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH in January

The Man in Black led a colorful life that both reflected and transcended his humble beginnings. RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH, which runs Jan. 17 through Feb. 15 in the Playhouse's Robert S. Featuring a range of objects created over the past 60 years, the exhibition What Would Mrs. Webb Do? A Founder's Vision celebrates Aileen Osborn Webb, who established the Museum of Arts and Design, then the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, in 1956. On view from today, September 23, 2014, through February 8, 2015, the exhibition explores how Webb, through her advocacy work at MAD and other leading institutions across the country and internationally, championed the skilled maker as integral to America's future.

John Marshall Jazz Quintet to Play June Havoc Theatre, 8/17

The John Marshall Jazz Quintet will fill Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street) with the sound of Jazz for a one-night-only concert on Sunday, August 17 at 7pm. Set to join trumpeter John Marshall are Grant Stewart on saxophone, Tardo Hammer on keyboard, David Wong on bass and Jimmy Wormworth on drums.
