The Barrow Group Theatre Company presents its 16th Annual Celebrity Doodles Auction & Gala on Monday, May 10th, 2010. Each year celebrities donate their artwork, or doodles, that are auctioned off in this annual fundraiser, at which The Barrow Group also honors individuals for their service to the arts and TBG. This year's honorees include Jon Marans and David Diamond.

Now celebrating its 230th anniversary, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences has elected baritone Thomas Hampson as one of its new members. The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).

McCarter Theatre will host two homecoming celebrations when it welcomes two of Princeton's brightest stars: acclaimed actor John Lithgow in his one-man show Stories by Heart on Wednesday, April 7 and children's music superstar Laurie Berkner for two performances on Saturday, April 17.

Broadway vet Jeffrey DeMunn has joined the cast of the upcoming production of DEATH OF A SALEMAN, opening in April at the Dallas Theater Center. DeMunn will play the role of Willy Lohman in the Arthur Miller classic. The show will run April 16th through May 16th.

Variety is reporting that the new film version of 'Footloose' has secured a new director. Craig Brewer will helm the film, which will work from his rewritten script. Chace Crawford is no longer attached to the project due to scheduling conflicts with the CW's 'Gossip Girl.'
