TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX to Honor Gena Rowlands with Handprint-Footprint Ceremony

Award-winning actress Gena Rowlands is to be honored at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX with the handprint-footprint ceremony on December 5 in celebration of Ms. Rowlands incredible contribution to cinema. Rowlands starred in many productions, including Staccato, A Child Is Waiting, Faces, Gloria (nomination for Academy Award® for Best Actress), Love Streams, Minnie and Moskowitz, She's So Lovely, A Woman Under the Influence (Academy Award® nomination), and The Neon Bible. All of these films were teamed with her iconic husband, writer and director John Cassavetes.

PIERS FACCINI & VINCENT SEGAL Release New Album 'Songs of Time Lost' Out Now!

Piers Faccini and Vincent Segal met in Paris in the late 1980s and have been friends ever since. Songs of Time Lost is their first joint album. Using voice, guitar and cello and a variety of languages (including English, Neapolitan dialect and Creole), the album brings together original compositions, traditional songs and some covers.

Portraits from Snowdon Archive to Be Displayed at National Portrait Gallery, 9/26

An important display of portraits by Snowdon from the 1950s to the 1990s has opened at the National Portrait Gallery, London, it was announced today, Friday 26 September, 2014. The display includes portraits from his recently announced gift, one of the largest in its history, of 130 original prints to the gallery, of some of his most iconic photographs. Highlights include from 1978 actor Terence Stamp dramatically clothed up to his neck in a cape and Dame Maggie Smith photographed with a cigarette and script in hand rehearsing the title role in Ibsen's Hedda Gabler for Ingmar Bergman in 1970.

Shakespeare Theatre Company to Honor John Hurt, Stacy Keach & Diana Rigg at 2014 Gala

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has selected John Hurt, Stacy Keach and Dame Diana Rigg as the 2014 recipients of The William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award), which recognizes artists who have made significant contributions to classical theatre in America. The Beech Street Foundation will be awarded the Sidney Harman Award for Philanthropy in the Arts. The awards will be presented at the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala on Sunday, October 5, 2014, hosted by STC at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) and the National Building Museum (440 G Street NW).

BWW Reviews: The Rock Turns into a Grecian Superhero in HERCULES

Hercules, as the story goes, is the half-mortal son of Zeus, King of the Gods… or is he? The new “Hercules” movie out this week, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the most famous of Greek God offspring, asks the audience to question everything that they know about this millennia-old myth. The film's script asks us to wonder if Hercules is truly a demi-god or just a mercenary with good PR. But the film's look and feel presents us with a less philosophical version of the same question, is he more Superman or Batman?
