The 50th anniversary of Aretha Franklin's arrival on the popular music scene is set for a major celebration in 2011.

Whatever it is, you'll find your music in March at the Palladium! Blues legends Rory Block, Roy Book Binder, Paul Geremia and Jimmy 'Duck' Holmes will raise the roof with our first concert of the month on March 5, The Greatest Blues Show on Earth! The timeless jazz of Peggy Lee, Duke Ellington, Anita O'Day, Joni Mitchell, Carmen McRae, Nancy Wilson, Shirley Horn and Ella Fitzgerald graces the stages of Hough Hall and the Side Door in numerous concerts throughout the month.

Roy Gaines & His Orchestra recorded their first CD 'Tuxedo Blues' (Black Gold Records) in 2009 at Capitol Records, and has performed at local venues and events in 2010 including the Central Ave Jazz Festival, The Typhoon Restaurant and the Catalina Jazz Club. The motto of this 17-piece orchestra is 'Dress the blues up'.

Nigel Redden, Director of the Lincoln Center Festival, which runs from July 7 through July 25, 2010, today announced the Festival's line-up, which includes ten North American, U.S., and New York premieres, and debuts. The Festival will unfold in seven venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus, including two major theater events on Governors Island-the North American premiere of Peter Stein's 12-hour marathon production of Dostoyevsky's The Demons (also known as The Possessed) and the North American premiere of Toneelgroep Amsterdam's production of Pier Paolo Pasolini's searing Teorema, adapted and staged by Ivo van Hove.

Lincoln Center Festival began with the idea of expanding the possibilities presented at Lincoln Center and bringing to audiences something that they could not see elsewhere. This is a challenging goal in a city as culturally rich as New York, and the result has been an eclectic mix of artists and productions representing over 50 countries as of Festival 2009.
