Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Patti LuPone, Dale Soules, and Michael Urie will be featured in the cast of its upcoming production of SHOWS FOR DAYS, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane, to be directed by Jerry Zaks. The production will begin performances Saturday evening, June 6 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Lyric Unlimited presents the world premiere of The Property, a klezmer opera by composer Wlad Marhulets and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann. It opens Wednesday, February 25, with five performances through Thursday, March 5. The Columbus Symphony continues its Happy Hour free concert series at the Ohio Theatre on Thursday, February 12. The concert will feature guest conductor Joel Smirnoff in an approximately 90-minute performance featuring Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, Bernstein's Fancy Free, Gershwin's Lullaby for String Orchestra, and Gould's Interplay (American Concertette) featuring guest pianist Caroline Hong. WOSU's Christopher Purdy will host, adding commentary on each of the works and interviewing the conductor throughout the evening.
Orange County—Jan. 7, 2015—Pacific Symphony invites all people of Orange County to share their voice and contribute to a new composition for “OC in Unison,” a project created to engage the community in music creation. Guided by the vision of Music Director Carl St.Clair, the Symphony has chosen Composer-in-Residence Narong Prangcharoen to write this new anthem for the county, which is scheduled to premiere on the Opening Night concerts of the 2015-16 season, with a culminating event taking place on Sunday, Oct. 4. Prangcharoen has already begun studying the county and discovering how the region has grown from an area of sprawling orange groves into a thriving cultural community of 34 different cities. He has been inspired by the range of scenery, but has been most influenced by the people he's met and the experiences they've had living here. Prangcharoen is now looking to more people to inspire the heart and spirit of the piece, and invites all residents to share their Orange County narrative.

The ASCAP Foundation Awards Ceremony was held at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Broadwayworld was there. This years recipient of the Masters Award was composer John Corigliano. Mr. Corigliano has also won fiver Grammy's a Pulitzer Prize the Grawemeyer Award and an Academy Award for his many scores and compositions. Rupert Holmes, Composer, Playwright, lyricist, mystery novelist, arranger-conductor, screenwriter, record producer and singer-songwriter received the Foundations George M.
