Broadway's Julie Halston, currently featured in Charles Busch's new play The Tribute Artist, will host the Fourth AnnualBroadway Belts for PFF! to benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) on February 24 at 7:00pm at Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street) as part of "Broadway at Birdland" series. All proceeds will benefit The Michael Kuchwara Fund for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Research, Education, and Advocacy. The Museum of the Moving Image's popular series See It Big! will turn its focus to the movie musical with a fourteen-film celebration of the genre, from today, January 24 through February 28, 2014. Musicals are, by their very nature, filled with spectacle. They are heightened forms of storytelling, in which the narrative is amplified by song and dance, where characters express their innermost feelings in the most extravagant ways imaginable. It is a genre that celebrates excess and stylization, and the best examples of the form can only be truly enjoyed... big!

This February, the Academy of Music at Hamilton High School, winner of the Los Angeles Music Center's Bravo Award, will stage Anything Goes, the classic musical comedy filled with well-loved songs by Cole Porter, blazing tap dance numbers and madcap antics taking place aboard an ocean liner traveling from New York to London. New Musical THE CHOCOLATE SHOW! to Begin Performances Off-Broadway, 2/1

The world's tastiest new musical will have its premiere this winter in NYC. The Chocolate Show!, arriving just in time for Valentine's Day, will begin performances on Saturday, February 1 with an official opening night set for Friday, February 14 at the 47th Street Theatre, 304 West 47th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Featuring book and music by Alan Golub & Laura Goldfader, lyrics by Mr. Golub, The Chocolate Show! is directed by Dan Foster, choreographed by Grady McLeod Bowman and under the music direction of Jeffrey Klitz, who also provided the musical arrangements and orchestrations. Tickets for The Chocolate Show! are $39.50 - $59.50 and can be arranged online at www.ticketcentral.com or by calling 212.279.4200 or at the TicketCentral Box Office located at 416 West 42nd Street. The 47th Street Theatre box office (304 West 47th Street) will open one hour before each performance.

According to the New York Post, Grey, who compiled the book by "walking around his 'hood, taking art shots," found the space doing just that. From there, he contacted owner Carla Ruben of Creative Edge Parties, who helped Grey open up the space for the celebration.
