Free Electric Youth at Showcase Live Ticket Available with FSPA All Access Pass

Electric Youth (EY), the international touring ensemble of talented singer-dancers trained at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA), will take the stage at Showcase Live at Patriot Place in Foxboro on Sunday, June 16 at 6 p.m. FSPA is pleased to offer prospective students a complimentary ticket to the concert as part of the school's new All Access Pass program. (Children ages 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at Showcase Live.) The concert provides students with the chance to experience the fun and excitement of the arts and live performance opportunities. Those interested in complimentary tickets should contact FSPA for more information and to schedule a free trial class or tour of the main facility in Franklin or satellite location in downtown Hudson.

Canadian Stage Presents Shakespeare in High Park, 6/26

For the first time in more than 20 years, Canadian Stage presents two Shakespearean productions at the High Park Amphitheatre (1873 Bloor St. W.), pairing Shakespeare's powerful tragedy, Macbeth, and one of his earliest comedies, The Taming of the Shrew. Performances run on alternate nights from June 26 to September 1, Tuesday through Sunday at 8 p.m. with gates opening at 6 p.m.

Leigh Fitzjames' LOVE AND LIGHT Plays Touch Art & Craft Gallery Tonight

When actress Leigh Fitzjames talks about loving yoga, she really means it. Her new one-woman play, 'Love and Light' that will be performed at the Touch Art & Craft Gallery in Cambridge tonight, June 1st and Sunday June 2nd at 7:00 p.m. details the story of Celine who has had a (fictional) one-night-stand with her guru Bikram Choudhury, the founder of the widely-followed hot yoga technique.

Canadian Stage to Present MACBETH, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW on Alternate Nights, 6/26-9/1

For the first time in more than 20 years, Canadian Stage presents two Shakespearean productions at the High Park Amphitheatre (1873 Bloor St. W.), pairing Shakespeare's powerful tragedy, Macbeth, and one of his earliest comedies, The Taming of the Shrew. Performances run on alternate nights from June 26 toSeptember 1, Tuesday through Sunday at 8 p.m. with gates opening at 6 p.m. As always, this favourite summer tradition is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested contribution of $20. The productions, directed by York University MFA Program graduates, Ker Wells and Ted Witzel, respectively, are presented by Canadian Stage in collaboration with the Department of Theatre in the Faculty of Fine Arts, York University, with Presenting Sponsor BMO Financial Group.

Women & Astronomy Take the Lead in STELLA, Kicking Off Summer Tour at Brighton Fringe Today

STELLA , a new play about time, space, women and astronomy, will premiere at the Brighton Fringe Festival {Wed 29 & Thurs 30 May} and then tour to The Rose Theatre Kingston (Tues 4 June), Norden Farm (Tues 11 June), Alan Ayckbourn's Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough (Fri 21June), Oxford Playhouse Studio (Thurs 27 & Fri 28 June), Greenwich Theatre (Thurs 11, Fri 12 , Sat 13 July).

Jonathan Fitts Leads 2013 Summer Theatre Conservatory for Burning Coal

Burning Coal Theatre Company has announced that Jonathan Fitts, a recent graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, will conduct its 2013 Summer Theatre Conservatory for Teens in July. Jonathan will then take over as Director of Education at Burning Coal Theatre Company. A photo of Jon is attached and his bio is below.

Joe's Pub Makes Brooklyn Debut at Great GoogaMooga Festival Today

Joe's Pub at The Public will make its debut in Brooklyn as a co-presenter at the second annual Great GoogaMooga Festival in Prospect Park. The three-day outdoor food, drink and music festival is produced by Superfly Presents and will take place today, May 17 through Sunday, May 19, 2013. The Joe's Pub Stage will host eight performances on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.

Sundance Institute Announces 2013 Theatre Lab

Sundance Institute today announced the seven projects selected to participate in the 2013 Theatre Lab, July 8-28 at the Sundance Resort in Utah. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Theatre Lab is the centerpiece of the Sundance Institute's Theatre Program's year-round work and is designed to support emerging and established artists and to create a place where their original work can be effectively mentored and challenged.

EXPO 1: NEW YORK Explores Ecological Challenges of Early 21st Century at MoMA PS1

EXPO 1: New York, an exploration of ecological challenges in the context of the economic and socio-political instability of the early 21st century opens at MoMA PS1, The Museum of Modern Art, and Rockaway Beach. Acting in the guise of a festival-as-institution, EXPO 1: New York imagines a contemporary art museum dedicated to ecological concerns, presenting a simultaneity of modules, interventions, solo projects, and group exhibitions including a school, a colony, a cinema, a geodesic dome, Rain Room, and more. EXPO 1: New York is made possible by a partnership with Volkswagen Group of America. Rain Room is on view at MoMA, courtesy of RH, Restoration Hardware.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company Announces STUPID F***ING BIRD House Lights Up Events

As part of Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company's ongoing initiative to "ignite an explosive engagement between theatre artists and the community," Woolly is pleased to announce the House Lights Up events for its upcoming world premiere of playwright Aaron Posner's Stupid f**king Bird. Loosely based on Chekhov's The Seagull, Woolly Artistic Director Howard Shalwitz directs this re-imagined version May 27 through June 23, 2013.
