Signature Theatre and Field Day present the U.S. Premiere of A PARTICLE OF DREAD (OEDIPUS VARIATIONS) bySam Shepard, directed by Nancy Meckler. Soul Jazz Books to Release DISCO: AN ENCYCLOPEDIC GUIDE TO THE COVER ART OF DISCO RECORDS

This large-format deluxe hardback book features the amazing artwork of thousands of disco record cover designs from the 1970s up to the mid-1980s. Together, the record cover designs gathered here create a unique visual history of disco culture. Featuring more than 2,000 album cover designs (including hundreds of full-size covers) as well as over 700 12-inch sleeves, this book is truly an encyclopedic document of disco music and the industry and culture attending it. In addition to the visual documents from the era, the book includes interviews with a number of important disco figures such as Mel Cheren (West End Records), Henry Stone (TK Records), Ken Cayre (Salsoul), Marvin Schlachter (Prelude) and Tom Moulton, as well as histories, biographies and discographies of all the major disco record companies, plus sections on roller disco sleeves, disco instruction albums, 12-inch sleeves and a scrapbook of disco ads. Among the many musicians featured here are Bohannon, James Brown, Jocelyn Brown, Cerrone, Dennis Coffey, Donna Summer, Chic, Fatback Band, Gino Soccio, Giorgio Moroder, Gloria Gaynor, Grace Jones, Isaac Hayes, Kool and the Gang, DC LaRue, Loleatta Holloway, MFSB, Ohio Players, Salsoul Orchestra and The Trammps. This is the latest volume in Soul Jazz's deluxe series of books featuring full-size reproductions of record cover art designs. It is compiled and edited by Disco Patrick and Patrick Vogt, editors of the book Disco Patrick Presents: The Bootleg Guide to Disco Acetates, Funk, Rap and Disco Medleys.

Winthrop Playmakers to Present EVERY CHRISTMAS STORY EVER TOLD (AND THEN SOME!), 12/12-14

The Winthrop Playmakers have announced their hilarious holiday production of the full length comedy Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) by John K. Alvarez, Michael Carleton, and James FitzGerald with an original song by Will Knapp. Winthrop resident and long-time Playmaker Anthony J. Internicola will direct with stage management by Wes Toma-Lee.

Canadian Stage Presents OPUS, Now thru Nov 16

World-renowned trailblazers in the world of contemporary circus, the Australian performance troupe Circa arrives in Toronto with their newest work, Opus. The North American premiere is presented by Canadian Stage for five performances only at the Bluma Appel Theatre (27 Front St. E.), tonight, Nov. 12 to the 16th.

Las Vegas Philharmonic to Present FA LA LA LAS VEGAS, 12/6

The Las Vegas Philharmonic performs its annual holiday POPS concert called 'Fa La La Las Vegas!' on Saturday, December 6th in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center with two performances, a 2:00 p.m. matinee and a 7:30 p.m. evening show. Maestro Cabrera will lead the orchestra in his second concert as Music Director for the Las Vegas Philharmonic. The men and women of the Las Vegas Master Singers will accompany the Las Vegas Philharmonic in this popular holiday program. In addition, Tod Fitzpatrick, baritone and Associate Professor of Music for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will sing selections in the program including Clurman's Songs of Freedom: A Celebration of Chanukah and Fantasia on Christmas Carols.

The U.S. Premiere of A PARTICLE OF DREAD (OEDIPUS VARIATIONS) by Sam Shepard, directed by Nancy Meckler, will play through Sunday, January 4, 2015. A PARTICLE OF DREAD (OEDIPUS VARIATIONS) begins performances tonight, November 11 and opens Sunday, November 23 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Arena Stage Presents OUR WAR Monologue Readings Tonight

The monologues will be read at a public reading tonight, November 6, 2014 following the 8:00 p.m. performance. The writers will also receive a session with American Voices New Play Institute Dramaturg Jocelyn Clarke, a listing in the Our War program and an award certificate. The finished monologues along with video clips of the performed monologues will be posted on Arena Stage's website and shared via social media. Directed by Anita Maynard-Losh, Our War runs October 21 - November 9, 2014 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.

Canadian Stage Presents OLDER & RECKLESS, Now thru 11/9

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of MOonhORsE Dance Theatre's Older & Reckless, Canadian Stage presents the acclaimed performance series for a limited run from today, Nov. 6 through the 9th at the Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs (26 Berkeley St.).
