The McLean Community Players (MCP) present Paul Slade Smith's Unnecessary Farce, opening April 29, 2016, in McLean's Alden Theatre. Director Jessie Roberts leads an award-winning cast and crew in bringing this production to the Alden stage. Unnecessary Farce combines all the elements of a classic farce with a contemporary American plot: the police procedural. This side-splitting show will have its 200th production this year. MCP's production opens Friday, April 29, and runs weekends through May 14, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and two Sunday matinees, May 1 and 8, at 2 p.m.
CLUE THE MUSICAL, as interpreted by director Lance Phillips-Martinez and music director Joel Baker, Desert Theatreworks' production is a great deal of family-friendly fun. Mr. Phillips-Martinez and Ashley Hernandez (who also plays the multiply-widowed Mrs. Peacock) have provided superb choreography. Add an excellent cast, a terrific musician (Brian Alec Thom), and the twist of giving the audience the opportunity to solve the murder, the result is a highly enjoyable 95 minutes.

Southwark Playhouse today announces the full cast for the UK premiere of JC Lee's LUCE, which runs March 9 to April 2. Joining Mel Geidroyc are Natasha Gordon, Martins Imhangbe, Elizabeth Tan and Nigel Whitmey. Natasha Gordon replaces Josette Simon who has had to withdraw from the production for personal reasons. Simon Dormandy, whose recent productions include his own stage adaptation of iconic film The Hudsucker Proxy, will direct, and his Hudsucker collaborator Dick Bird designs.
