The York Theatre Company has announced the cast for the special Spring Gala Celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Off-Broadway hit The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, has announced today a special gala celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Off-Broadway hit The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) with music by Eric Rockwell, lyrics by Joanne Bogart, and book by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart.
Musical theatre lovers, rejoice! The Musical of Musicals-the Musical! has returned to Sacramento and promises an evening of melodrama, satire, and comedy. Composed by the co-creator of last season's The Donner Party, Eric Rockwell, with lyrics by Joanne Bogart, the show parodies some of Broadway's greatest composers while paying homage to their brilliance.
The Unframed at New Stage Theatre Series presents Building the Wall, the newest play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan (The Kentucky Cycle, All the Way, Hacksaw Ridge) November 10, 11, 12 18, & 19 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket price is $10.00 and tickets can only be purchased at the door, cash or check only. The performances are staged at New Stage Theatre's Warehouse Theatre, which is located at 1000 Monroe Street in the Belhaven Heights neighborhood. Stage Rights announced this week that Acappella is the recipient of the 2015 Stage Rights/NYMF Publishing Award. Roger Bean, President and Founder of Stage Rights, presented the award to book writer Vynnie Meli, who accepted on behalf of the entire Acappella team. Stage Rights and The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) created the publishing award in 2013, and it is presented annually to one or more of the musicals taking part in the festival. Performance rights for Acappella will be available through Stage Rights in spring 2016.
There's a lot happening at off the WALL! As of July of 2015, Hans and Virginia Wall Gruenert, co-founders of off the WALL Performing Arts Center, have donated the building at 25 W. Main St., Carnegie to the off the WALL Charitable Trust. The not-for-profit venue will be renamed Carnegie Stage, as their nod to a supportive community. The anchor tenants will continue to be off the WALL Productions, whose main theater season is October to May, fireWALL dance theater with two new works annually and the Pittsburgh New Works Festival.

The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) continues at the Olathe Civic Theatre Association through March 1 at the theater located in Olathe, Kansas. Written by Joanne Bogart and Eric Rockwell the musical is a parody of five musical theater composers, all dealing with the same plot, 'I can't pay the rent!'
Moonbox Productions opens its fifth season with THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS (THE MUSICAL!), with seamless direction and choreography by Rachel Bertone and music direction by Dan Rodriguez.
