Split Second: Indian Paintings, a small installation of ten rarely seen works from the Brooklyn Museum collection, on view July 13 through December 31, 2011, will result from a unique online experiment that was inspired by Malcolm Gladwell's critically acclaimed book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking.
Open every Thursday evening until 10 p.m. since last October, the Brooklyn Museum will enhance its Thursdays @ 7 programming this fall to better meet the needs of visitors who work during the day.
During July and August the Brooklyn Museum will present a variety of public programs for adults, including a jazz concert featuring Winard Harper (pictured) produced in conjunction with WBGO, a yoga series, a screening of the film Yogawoman, and a creative art making session for adults with Sandy Patangay on the art of henna.

Vishnu: Hinduism's Blue-Skinned Savior will feature more than 170 objects that will explore the many personae and legends of Vishnu, his entourage, and his accoutrements, as well as the diverse traditions of worship related to him.
NASHVILLE, TENN. - (December 23, 2010) - Vishnu: Hinduism's Blue-Skinned Savior, the first major museum exhibition to focus on the Hindu deity Vishnu has been organized by the Frist Center for the Visual Arts and will open with a free community preview day Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. The exhibition will open to the public as a ticketed exhibition Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, and remain on view in the Ingram Gallery through May 29, 2011.
