An alt folk opera written by and starring husband and wife duo Shaun and Abigail Bengson, Hundred Days is the fierce, triumphant story of a young couple who fall in love, only to have their time together cut short by a fatal illness. With the brash intensity of youth, they decide to try and live the 100 days they have left together as though it were the 60 years they had imagined they would have.
Lisa Steindler, Artistic Director of Z Space announced a collaboration between the world premiere of Hundred Days, a folk rock odyssey, and San Francisco's popular Noise Pop Festival. The Thursday, February 27 preview has been designated as a special performance to be included in the Noise Pop Festival lineup. Conceived and created by up-and-coming duo The Bengsons, Hundred Days redefines the concert as well as the musical theater experience. As part of San Francisco's favorite indie music, arts and film festival, the preview on February 27 comes days before the show's world premiere on Saturday, March 1. Directed by Obie Award winner, Anne Kauffman, Hundred Days presents a touching journey about love, loss, and life, leaving audiences wondering how they might spend their last hundred days. New composer Trevor Bachman made his Joe's Pub debut on Monday, August 12 in Songs of a Brave Soldier- a musical chronicle of truth. Wielding music as a storytelling force, this evening of rock, soul, and classical styles is a sampling of two original musicals (Pyre Cantata and Coromandel), as well as brand new songs. Bachman is an indie music theatre composer/lyricist with an eclectic sound, fusing tight harmonies, soulful grooves and addictive melodies, creating an emotional theatrical experience.
