Bloomberg, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and New York Restoration Project (NYRP) are inviting all New Yorkers to 'put down roots' by planting a tree in their front or backyard, registering a newly planted tree online, volunteering for a community tree planting or watering day, or making a donation.

In March 2010, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem presents public programming that brings jazz fans closer to artists-emerging to living masters-that embody the art form that defines America to itself and to the world.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival's second-annual BROADWAY BATTLE OF THE BANDS competition -- an informal smackdown between bands featuring Broadway and Off-Broadway actors, writers and musicians will be presented on Saturday, May 17 at 10:30pm when three rock 'n roll bands - whose roots are onstage and in the orchestra pits of several Broadway musicals - come together for a one-night-only concert at The Zipper Factory, 336 West 37th Street in Manhattan.
