Music Mountain to Present Harlem String Quartet with Francine Kay & More, 8/22-23

Music Mountain, America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, continues its 86th anniversary season with another weekend of esteemed artists. Saturday, August 22 welcomes Peter & Will Anderson, with guest Alex Wintz, guitar, performing the best of bebop and jazz (6:30pm). The music continues on Sunday afternoon August 23(3pm) with the Harlem String Quartet and guest artist Francine Kay, piano, performing Beethoven, Turina, Bartok, Borodin, and Dvorak. Concerts are scheduled thru September 27.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to Play NJPAC, 9/11

Legendary jazz composer Billy Strayhorn's music takes center stage when the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia (JOP) plays tribute in the Perelman Theater tonight, May 9 at 8p.m. Presented by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and under the artistic direction of renowned Philadelphia trumpeter Terell Stafford, the performance celebrates Strayhorn's 100th birthday with a special program including 'Take the 'A' Train,' 'Satin Doll,' and Strayhorn's most famous ballad, 'Lush Life.'

THE JOY OF SAX Begins Later This Month at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome Peter and Will Anderson with THE JOY OF SAX, featuring Pat Bianchi on the Hammond B-3 Organ. 2015 New York Hot Jazz Fest to Kick Off May 3

Following the success of the previous two festivals, the 3rd Annual New York Hot Jazz Festival -- produced by the impresario Michael 'Misha' Katsobashvili, performer Bria Skonberg, and composer/producer Patrick Soluri (of Prohibition Productions and The Salon) -- returns to The Players this year and promises some of the biggest stars of the Hot Jazz and swing scenes in a summit of uptown and downtown talent spanning three generations.

Pete McGuinness, established NYC-based jazz trombonist, GRAMMY-nominated composer/arranger, award-winning jazz vocalist, and longtime jazz educator is slated to perform at Millersville University twice. Catch Pete McGuinness performing with the students of the MU Jazz Ensemble tonight, February 20 at 7:30 pm at the Winter Center on Millersville University's campus as part of 'Jazz at the Ville'. The Winter Center is located at 60 West Cottage Ave, Millersville.

The Kimmel Center's commitment to Jazz continues as their Jazz Residency winners are announced! The five-person panel, representing some of the nation's most influential jazz practitioners and innovators -- including Kennedy Center Director of Jazz Programming Kevin Struthers, SF Jazz Center Artistic Producer Lilly Schwartz, Jazz at Lincoln Center Vice President of Education Todd Stoll -- culled through over 25 applicants and selected five early to mid-career Philadelphia jazz musicians to participate in this prestigious season-long journey.
