Focus Features and LAIKA, the two companies behind the Academy Award-nominated animated feature Coraline are reteaming for LAIKA's next two projects.

On August 16, 2011, Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) releases digitally the motion picture soundtrack for the new movie One Day, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. The soundtrack One Day features a brand new track written and composed exclusively for the movie by Elvis Costello; titled 'Sparkling Day,' the song is only available on this soundtrack.

Production begins this week on Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, written and directed by Lorene Scafaria. The pre-apocalyptic comedy stars Golden Globe Award winner Steve Carell and Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley.

Focus Features will accept entries for its Africa First Program - entering its fourth year - beginning Monday, May 16th and continuing through Monday, August 22nd. Focus CEO James Schamus made the announcement today.

Production has begun, on East Coast locations, on a Focus Features drama from Academy Award-nominated writer/director Paul Weitz.

Original costumes from The Kids Are All Right, the Focus Features movie that is Academy Award-nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress (Annette Bening), Best Supporting Actor (Mark Ruffalo), and Best Original Screenplay (Lisa Cholodenko & Stuart Blumberg), will be auctioned off online through the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, with the proceeds to benefit children's charities.

SNL returns with two back-to-back shows in November starting with actress Scarlett Johansson and musical guest Arcade Fire. On November 20, Anne Hathaway returns as host with musical guest Florence and The Machine

Production has begun on One Day, the feature film version of the internationally praised novel of the same name by David Nicholls, which this month enters The New York Times bestseller list. Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess star in the movie. One Day is a co-production in the unique partnership of Random House Inc.'s Random House Films division and Focus Features. The U.K.'s Film4 is co-financing.

Anne Hathaway will star in the film version of David Nicholls' novel 'One Day,' the Associated Press's Edwardsville Intelligencer reports. The story deals with a romance between a working-class woman (Hathaway) and a rich man (Jim Sturgess).

With films and filmmakers arriving from across the globe, the Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) kicks off its 13th annual event August 4th-9th, 2009. This year 235 feature length, documentary and short films - from 57 countries - will be screened over a six-day period In locations throughout the state, all vying for top awards. Out of over 7,000 film festivals worldwide, RIIFF is one of only 63 Academy Award qualifying Festivals. This year's films have been selected from a record entry base of over 3,000 submissions.
