The nation's first ever community-wide festival of laughter, Gilda's LaughFest, has announced plans to kick off this year's festival by inviting the community to help set another Guinness World Record today, March 5, for the most people wearing paper crowns.

This family friendly Community Kickoff, presented by Feyen Zylstra, will take place at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids and will include free entertainment. The first 1,500 participants will receive an exclusive commemorative LaughFest button. A small quantity of an official, limited edition world record event LaughFest t-shirt will be available for purchase. Amway will be providing hand warmers and hot chocolate to individuals in attendance. The world record attempt will be followed with opening night events at downtown restaurants and a free comedy preview show.

Critically-acclaimed comedienne, Margaret Cho, will make her return to Foxwoods tonight, Feb. 1, 2013 at 8 p.m. to showcase her brand new stand-up show, 'MOTHER,' at Fox Theater. Cho's latest project offers up an untraditional look at motherhood, including how we look at maternal figures and strong women in queer culture. Considered her edgiest show to date, 'MOTHER,' is filled with riotous observations on race, drugs, celebrities, culture, politics and sexuality - gay, straight and everything in between - and of course, nothing is sacred.

Most recently seen on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," comedian Greg Warren continues to impress, having been "on the rise for the last decade" according to Punchline Magazine. Fans can catch Warren live early next year at Comix At Foxwoods beginning Thursday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m., with additional shows Friday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for advance general admission ($30 day of show) and $40 for advance VIP admission ($50 day of show). VIP admission includes priority club access and reserved table selection before general seating begins. A two-drink minimum applies to all tickets, which are on sale now. Multi award-winning comedian, Paul Mecurio, and monthly favorite act, Dueling Pianos, will welcome in 2013 at Comix At Foxwoods with an evening of dancing, drinking and fun, lasting until 3 a.m. The New Year's Eve festivities will begin at 9 p.m., when Mecurio, will showcase his hilarious routine on the Comix stage, followed by Dueling Pianos, who will hit the stage at 10:30 p.m. New Year's Eve party favors, a champagne toast and a post-midnight dessert buffet will follow the two exceptional comedy performances. 2013 Comix Countdown tickets can be purchased in advance for $50 (general admission) or $125 (VIP admission).
