Artistic Director Jim Helsinger announced today that a two-part repertory production of Charles Dickens' epic "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby" will headline Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF's 25th Anniversary Season. Adapted by playwright David Edgar from the comic novel by Charles Dickens, the play will be the biggest production in Orlando Shakes' history, with 30 actors playing more than 150 characters.
Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (http://www.orlandoshakes.org) presents two treasured and cherished classics - William Shakespeare's Othello and Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility - in rotating repertory. Shakespeare's Henry VIII and Measure for Measure will receive their first productions at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival in the company's summer season of 2013. The season will also include Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, the award-winning comic-thriller, The 39 Steps, and Rodgers and Hammerstein's legendary musical, Oklahoma!
