National Chorale, New York's premiere professional choral company, under the Artistic Direction of Everett McCorvey, announces its 2016-2017 Season at Lincoln Center.  The National Chorale's 49th season begins with A Gershwin Celebration, followed by Beethoven's Symphony #9, then the annual Handel's Messiah Sing-In, and concludes with Mozart's Requiem.  

Amore Opera closes the 2015-2016 season with Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto. This tale of innocence lost and vengeance gone tragically awry will be presented in full production with full orchestra conducted by Douglas Martin, with stage direction by Amore Opera's Artistic Director Nathan Hull. 

Jason Tramm, Artistic Director and principal conductor of the Morristown based MidAtlantic Opera leads the Amore Opera orchestra, chorus and featured soloists in Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème, arguably the world's most beloved opera. Directed by Nathan Hull, Amore Opera's fully staged production, with original sets designed by Richard Cerullo (for lower Manhattan's famed impresario Anthony Amato) opened December 18th and runs for 8 performances through January 3rd in the intimate 275 seat Loreto Theatre at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New York City. Regina Opera Company will present Bizet's 'Carmen' on Saturdays May 16 and 23; and Sundays May 17 and 24 at 3:00PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help auditorium, 5902 6th Avenue, Brooklyn. The fully-staged performances of this tragedy in which a sultry gypsy drives a young soldier to extremes of passion, is sung in French with English super-titles.

The Riverside Opera Company, under the direction of Maestro Alan Aurelia announces a performance of 'PoPera' a mix of Opera and Broadway favorites featuring long time Riverside Opera piano accompanist Ming Kwong and sopranos Jessica Sandidge and Manna Knjoi who are winners of open public auditions, held in New York City by the Riverside Opera Company. They will sing selections of their choosing. Eight performances will be presented from today, MARCH 16-24 at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Performance times are 8:15 pm for Fridays and Todays, including March 16, 22, and 23; 7:15 pm for Tuesday-Thursday performances, March 19-21; and 3:15 pm for two Sunday matinees, March 17 and 24.
