Steel Burkhardt, original cast member of the current Broadway and London revival of HAIR, will succeed Will Swenson as Berger on May 31 at London's Gielgud Theatre. As previously announced, Tony Award-nominee Will Swenson is departing to lead the cast of the pre-Broadway North American company of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT: THE MUSICAL, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott and directed by Simon Phillips. PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT: THE MUSICAL will open on Broadway in Spring 2011 at a theater to be announced.

RACE, 'the topical detective story' (New York Times) that 'sizzles with energy' (The Wall Street Journal), written and directed by David Mamet will play its 200th performance on Saturday, May 29th at 8:00 pm. RACE, which recouped early in the spring, is the longest running play of the season.

The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will bow early in the West End on September 4, 2010, producers have revealed. While the production was scheduled to run through January 2011, the producers have reportedly decided not to recast the show after the current cast's contracts are up on September 4. The production opened at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End April 14th, 2010.

Producers of the Tony Award-winning musical HAIR announced today that the show has captured its Times Square billboard and repurposed it to create a limited edition tote bag, rather than discarding the large advertisement, made of vinyl. This collector's item will be available only at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) beginning today (Tuesday, May 25).

Notices are reportedly up at the Walter Kerr Theatre that Catherine Zeta-Jones will miss the matinee today of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. The star previously missed shows on the 18th, 19th and 20th, but was back in last night (Friday). According to a production spokesperson, she will be back for tonight's show.

A production spokesperson confirmed to BroadwayWorld.com that 'Catherine Zeta-Jones is out of the show this evening - she's sick and hopes to return to the production as soon as she is able.' The star previously missed performances on the 18th and 19th (the first that she's missed since the run began). Zeta-Jones' understudy Jayne Paterson will be performing her role of Desiree Armfeldt.

Despite many rumors of new stars and replacement casts, the first Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony Award-winning masterpiece A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, starring Academy Award-winner and Tony-nominee Catherine Zeta-Jones, five-time Tony Award-winner Angela Lansbury and Olivier Award-nominee Alexander Hanson, will play its final performance on Sunday, June 20th at 3:00 PM after 20 previews and 217 regular performances. Directed by Tony Award-winner Trevor Nunn, the production began previews on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 and opened on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street).
