OWNED, ABSOLUTION & More Set for MCC Theater's Fall 2013 Playlab Readings

MCC THEATER has announced the line-up for their upcoming PlayLabs reading series, featuring new plays by members of the company's Playwrights' Coalition. Traditionally held in the Spring, MCC'sPlayLab will now shift to the autumn months, launching this year on four consecutive Mondays throughout September (beginning September 9th) at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). All readings are at 7pm. New York actors currently scheduled to appear in the readings include: Tony Award nomineeJeremy Shamos, Patch Darragh, Brett Donaldson, Maxwell Hamilton, Rachel Lee, Christopher McLinden, Deirdre O'Connell, and Shannon Sullivan. Marcia Gay Harden, Eileen Atkins & More Sign on for Upcoming Woody Allen Comedy

According to Variety, Broadway veterans Eileen Atkins, Marcia Gay Harden, Hamisch Linklater and Simon McBurney have all joined the cast of Woody Allen's new, untitled comedy. Also starring are previously announced Colin Firth, Jeremy Shamos, and Emma Stone. The Gravier Productions film is produced by Allen's longtime associates, Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.

Jeremy Shamos Joins Colin Firth & Emma Stone in Untitled Woody Allen Film

Jeremy Shamos, the Tony nominated actor for Clybourne Park, will be joining the previously announced Colin Firth and Emma Stone for Woody Allen's new film. Shamos is currently starring in the Tony nominated Best Play "The Assembled Parties" on Broadway, but will be leaving to film in the south of France starting mid July.

Apparently, not all upper west side Jewish families spend Christmas Day going out for Chinese food and a movie.  Take the extended family of Richard Greenberg's The Assembled Parties, who spend two December 25ths, twenty years apart, in a perfunctory celebration of the holiday while complaining about the inability to find a plumber to come right over fix a leaky pipe (Even when offered a 'Nativity surcharge.') and referring to the season's continual playing of Bing Crosby singing 'White Christmas' as, 'a tiny acoustic rape every time you leave the apartment.'
