Playwrights Horizons is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for up to two $5 tickets each to the New York premiere of THE QUALMS, a new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park and The Pain and the Itch at PH, Domesticated).  Directed by Tony and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park and Completeness at PH; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; this season's A Delicate Balance and The Heidi Chronicles), the play is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.   

On Monday, May 18th at 7 p.m., performing arts high schools from four boroughs will present samples of their best work of the year at Circle in the Square Theatre. Book of Mormon cast member and Circle in the Square Theatre School alumnus Christian Dante White will welcome the performers and inspire them to keep their dream alive. This annual event is the centerpiece of Circle in the Square Theatre School's Teens on Broadway program.

THE QUALMS is the final production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season and reunites Mr. Norris and Ms. MacKinnon at Playwrights Horizons for the first time since their acclaimed, hit production Clybourne Park. The cast just met the press and BroadwayWorld has a peek at the company below!

Manhattan Theatre Club's presentation of Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Airline Highway, the new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Lisa D'Amour (Detroit), directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Casa Valentina, Take Me Out), opened last night, April 23 at MTC's Samuel J. The award-winning theatre company Page 73 hosted their spring gala last week at City Winery, with performances by Josh Young, Reed Birney, Quincy Tyler Bernstine and Constance Shulman. The Broadway transfer of The Royal Shakespeare Company's Wolf Hall: Parts 1 & 2 began previews on March 20, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, with an opening set for tonight, April 9, 2015. Wolf Hall: Parts 1 & 2, which explores the deceit, betrayal, and intrigue of the court of Henry VIII, is written by Dame Hilary Manteland adapted by Mike Poulton. This special event invites theatergoers to be part of a unique theatrical experience, similar to the Royal Shakespeare Company's award winning production of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents a new Broadway production of the classic musical On the Twentieth Century starring Tony & Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Golden Globe, SAG Award winner & Tony nominee Peter Gallagher, Tony nominee Andy Karl, Mark Linn-Baker, Tony winner Michael McGrath and Tony winner Mary Louise Wilson. On the Twentieth Century is choreographed by Tony winner Warren Carlyle and directed by six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis, and features music by Cy Coleman, and book & lyrics by Betty ComdenandAdolph Green. On the Twentieth Century is based on plays by Ben Hecht, Charles MacArthur & Bruce Millholland. The original Broadway production was directed by Harold Prince. Red Bull Theater today announced a new three-part collaboration with the Shakespeare Society exploring Shakespeare and the Jacobeans on Film. The series includes a Shakespeare Society major member event (open to the public) and two film screenings. Theatre luminaries will gather tonight, November 17, 2014, to to honor acclaimed playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis as he receives the 2014 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award at the Steinberg Playwright Awards, presented by The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust. Scenes highlighting his work will be presented at the 7th Annual 'Mimi' Awards, which will take place at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.
