Broadway star Ariana DeBose (Motown, Bring It On) will make her solo concert debut with '...they say I'm different' at Joe's Pub on Monday, August 12th. Directed by Max Friedman, the 9:30pm concert will feature an eclectic mix of material, ranging from funk rock classics to new work from up-and-coming musical theater writers.

It's the homecoming of an Off-Broadway classic! York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) present the first New York City revival of the classic Off-Broadway hit Closer Than Ever with Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Music by David Shire. Performances continue for a limited run through July 14, 2012 at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). A world premiere screening of the Sondheim: The Birthday Concert was held at the NYIT Auditorium on November 1, 2010 and attended by cast, crew and friends. The star-studded event, Sondheim! The Birthday Concert, celebrating the 80th birthday of the Broadway and film legend Stephen Sondheim with performances of his music and songs by some of the world's biggest talents, will make its debut on PBS stations across the country on November 24th, thanks to the Emmy Award-winning producer Ellen M. Krass and multiple Tony Award-winning co-producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley in association with Thirteen/WNET and Image Entertainment. The production, which is hosted by David Hyde Pierce, will air at 9PM ET (check local listings).

The Boomerang Theatre Company debuted The Legacy Reading Series, a new annual event featuring readings of plays from past seasons, last week to benefit the company. The series is intended to celebrate past works, while giving new audiences a chance to experience them. All proceeds from The Legacy Series are intended benefit Boomerang new play development programs.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced casting for its production of RAGTIME in the Eisenhower Theater April 18 - May 10, 2009. Based on a 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow, the production features book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and will be directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. The musical is part of the Kennedy Center's Broadway: The Third Generation, a series celebrating the current generation of Broadway musical composers. The official press night will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

Six girls from the cast of Spring Awakening will be performing a song from the Tony Award winning show, while honoring and maintaining the gender-bending concept of Broadway Backwards 3. The concert is Monday, February 4, 2008 from 8-10PM at American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). 'Broadway Backwards 3' is nearly sold out!

'Broadway Backwards 3', the gender-bending concert of show tune favorites benefiting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, on Monday February 4 at 8PM, is nearly sold-out. The only remaining tickets available for the event are the $250 Orchestra Seats. Jenn Colella made her Broadway debut in 'Urban Cowboy' for which she received an Outer Critics Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress. She was also in the original world premiere San Diego cast of 'The Times They Are A-Changing.' She last appeared on Broadway in 'High Fidelity' as Laura.

Don't Quit Your Night Job, Broadway's new star-studded after hours revue, opened at HA! Comedy Club (163 46th St. at 7th Ave.) on Thursday, May 17th, and BroadwayWorld was there!
