Hatcher's Killer Comedy MURDERERS Runs 3/13-5/23

Playwright Jeffrey Hatcher's MURDERERS, takes the mainstage as Asolo Rep's ninth production this season - the fifth to open in repertory for 2009. The offbeat, killer comedy opens on March 13 and continues through May 23, 2009. Pitts. Public Theater Announces 09-10 Season, Runs Thru 6/27

Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas has announced the line-up for Pittsburgh Public Theater's 09/10 season. The six-play subscription series begins October 1, 2009 and runs through June 27, 2010. 'Our audiences will experience a season of infinite variety,' Pappas said. 'Included are Shakespeare's best-loved play, a musical about the greatest jazz singer of all time, and a ferocious tour-de-force starring a great actress. Add to that a British comic masterpiece from a living genius and friend, a Pulitzer Prize-winning romantic comedy by an American treasure, and a sweet surprise as the finale. This season has it all,' he said. In addition, The Public will present two special engagements.

The Rep Ends 08-09 Season W/ DR JEKYLL & MR HYDE 3/18-4/12

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) concludes its 2008-2009 Mainstage series with Jeffrey Hatcher's new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's gothic thriller Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Performances of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde will be given on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves, March 18-April 12, 2009.

Taproot Theater Presents TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE 3/27-4/25

Taproot Theatre Company presents Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom this spring. Based on the best-selling autobiographical book by Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie invites you to pull up a chair and join Mitch and his beloved, vibrant but terminally-ill professor, Morrie, for some of the greatest lessons life can offer. When you lose your way, sometimes you find it again in the most unexpected places. Tuesdays with Morrie, directed by Karen Lund, opens on March 27 and runs through April 25, with low-price previews on March 25 & 26, plus a pay-what-you-can performance on April 1.

Unpublished Shorts By William Inge To Be Performed 4/22

Several short plays by the late Pulitzer Prize-winning writer William Inge, never before publicly performed, will premiere April 22 at the annual William Inge Theatre Festival in his Kansas hometown. The 28th annual William Inge Theatre Festival celebrates the legacy of great American playwrights and honors Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt April 22-25. They will receive the coveted Distinguished Achievement in the American Theatre Award, joining the list of previous Inge Festival honorees such as Arthur Miller, August Wilson, Wendy Wasserstein, Neil Simon, and Stephen Sondheim.

Karen Carpenter To Be Guest Director Of One-Act Inge Plays

Karen Carpenter, former associate artistic director at the Old Globe Theater of San Diego, director at the Yale Cabaret, and former production manager of more than a dozen Broadway musicals, will be guest director of the world premiere of One-Act Inge plays at the William Inge Theatre Festival this April in Independence, Kansas. Ms. Carpenter is a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers (SSDC) and Actors' Equity Association. Karen Carpenter was one of seven nominees nationwide for the coveted Mike Ockrent Fellowship this year.

Marin Theater Presents The Premiere Of MAGIC FOREST FARM

Marin Theatre Company is pleased to present the world premiere of Magic Forest Farm by Zayd Dohrn, winner of the first annual Sky Cooper New American Play Prize in 2008. The production will be staged in MTC's 99-seat Lieberman Theatre. From one of America's hottest young playwrights comes a riveting story of a young woman's desperate search for her past. Seventeen year-old Allegra is beginning to piece together the swirling memories of her early years in the beautiful woods of Northern California on a mystical commune called Magic Forest Farm. Mixing with joyous recollections of waterfalls and wildflowers are darker revelations and startling images of the people she thinks she trusts most. A journey begins that takes Allegra back to the commune, back to the past, to confront the truth.

A Contemporary Theatre announces adjustments and additions to its 45th Anniversary Season.
